Thanks to all who supported my petition. Avastin is now available on the PBS. Sadly my husband Greg passed away on the 28th May 2009 (aged just 52) after a 5 year battle with Colon Cancer. He was an amazing man who fought for his life with great dignity and faith, never once complaining or asking "Why Me'. He was an inspiration to us all and we are better people for having shared his life. It has been an honour and a privilege to have known and loved such a wonderful man. We will miss him forever.
SWEET IS THE SLEEP WITHOUT ANY PAIN.
WE WOULD NOT WAKE HIM TO SUFFER IN PAIN.
Clinical trials on the new drug Avastin has shown amazing results when tested on people with advanced bowel cancer.
These trials have been conducted at the Mater hospital in Brisbane by Oncologist Associate Professor Paul Mainwaring.
We, the undersigned, call on the Federal Government to approve the cancer drug Avastin to be approved on the Pharmaceuticals Benefit Scheme.
