As the citizens of Cottonwood, Arizona, and its surrounding communities within the Verde Valley, we have learned that the City Council has initially accepted an application for "Miss Nature's Arizona Pride Tour." This tour states that:
"This is a statewide event that brings the art of drag to rural communities across Arizona."
The event welcomes children of all ages, serves alcohol, and provides free AIDS testing. It is scheduled for April 8th (Good Friday & Resurrection Sunday Weekend) and will be held on the city's public property.
Let's gather together as one voice, respectfully and prayerfully, to share with the City Council that we don’t want our children exposed to this event, nor do we, as citizens of the Verde Valley, want the drag show in our community at all.
We, the people of Cottonwood Arizona, and its surrounding communities of the Verde Valley have learned of an event promoted as "The Arizona Pride Tour 2023." This event is scheduled for April 8th (Good Friday & Resurrection Sunday Weekend) on the public property of 805 N. Main Street, known as The Clubhouse. The event welcomes children of all ages, serves alcohol, and provides free AIDS testing.
The tour's website states: "This is a statewide event that brings the art of drag to rural communities across Arizona."
In order to ensure domestic stability, promote the general welfare of its citizens and protect its children, we shudder at the thought of outsiders disturbing our great city with morals and values that we ourselves do not hold, performing a sexually deviant "show" that we do not want, and then abandoning our community, placing a blight on our friends, families, and children.
We ask that you sign this petition today and continue to pray for the men associated with the drag show, the City Council, and our Verde Valley.
