While this petition is not against such an introduction of Food Organic & Garden Organic Service, it is against Council not giving the community their democratic right to OPT OUT. Council is being seen as forcing this service onto those that:
1. Can at least afford such a service at this time, ie. those on low incomes or people living alone in rented accommodation or their own homes that possibly have no garden to speak of.
2. Already are doing the right thing by their community in composting both their food scraps and garden waste into their own composting bins to be used on their gardens.
3. Those people in our community that rely on their gardeners because of either age or disability.
4. Having a disregard to those businesses that rely on their 'trash pack' customers.
Thos signing this petition must reside or be a ratepayer in the City of Glenorchy and that they ONLY SIGN ONCE - ie. if you have signed a paper petition PLEASE DO NOT sign again.

ACTION SOUGHT BY THE PETITIONERS:
We the undersigned express our concerns with the Glenorchy City Council and we respectfully request that Council provide an unconditional / unrestricted opt out option for the Food Organic Garden Organic (FOGO) service and that Council takes immediate action to this end.
