Ardent Fans Start Petition To Keep Munster At Home
TWO dedicated Munster fans have launched a campaign to try to convince the Cork County Board to release Parc Ui Chaoimh for the Heineken Cup Quarter Final if Munster land a home draw by beating Leicester this weekend.
Work Colleagues Bill Kearney and George Bulman, who head up Mini Storage in Mahon Industrial Estate, Blackrock have pledged to start a petition to try to convince the GAA powers to allow Munster play in the Cork Stadium.
“George comes from a GAA background and I grew up with rugby but we both felt we had to do something to try to keep Munster at home for their quarter-final draw. It’s been proven again and again in this competition that a home game is a huge advantage and we feel it’s a crying shame that Munster have no ground to play in when such a fantastic facility is on our doorstep,” said Mr Kearney.
“Everybody is talking about this but we decided it was time to take some action. So we are going to start a petition at our offices here in Mini Storage and on the web site www.ministorage.ie which we will present to the Cork County Board to try to get the ground made available.
George Bulman – a life-long GAA club member – agrees. “Everybody agrees it is ludicrous that Munster have to travel abroad for a home game. We believe that the Cork County Board is a reasonable organisation and that many of their own members would be only too delighted to have the red of Munster thronging Parc Ui Chaoimh,” he said.
“So if Munster do get over the Leicester hurdle this weekend, we will be setting up petition books at our Mini Storage headquarters in Mahon Industrial Estate, Blackrock and Marina Commercial Park as well as a signing facility on our website and we’ll be urging all sports fans, no matter what their sporting preference to sign up.”
We, the undersigned, believe that the the Cork County Board should release Pairc Ui Chaoimh to the Munster Rugby team for their Heineken Cup Quarter Final match.
