We the undersigned, and the citizens of Pekin, Illinois, a community of nearly 34,000 residents, located in Tazewell County in Central Illinois do hereby request the immediate resignation of Pekin Mayor Laura Barra.
Mayor Barra has not represented the City of Pekin in a way befitting a Mayor. She has consistently ignored the will of the citizens both through petitions and questions posed to her by same.
Though not required by law, Mayor Barra has never conducted regular meetings with the public to get their feedback on current or upcoming projects facing the City.
It would be better for all involved if Mayor Barra would step down as Mayor of Pekin.
We, the undersigned, call on Mayor Barra of Pekin, Illinois to immediately resign her position as Mayor.
