During the development and construction of I-295, the inclusion of a highway traffic noise barrier was not included along the College Lakes, Eureka Springs, Patriot Park Village and Kings Grant subdivisions to protect the residents from the hazards and loud noise of highway traffic directly adjacent to their homes.

The quality of life as well as property values of these subdivisions are being negatively impacted since the highway opened.

The DOT as well as Fayetteville, NC City Board Members have been queried for information about a highway traffic noise barrier or future construction. To date, there are no plans of constructing any barrier to protect the residents of the affected subdivisions.

We the undersigned are petitioning the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the City of Fayetteville, NC for assistance in the construction of a highway traffic noise barrier on both the north and south sides of Interstate-295 to protect the constituents of the above mentioned subdivisions..

The highway traffic noise barrier shall provide noise abatement, spark arrest, and protect our families and pets from the hazards of highway traffic.

The barrier shall run along the south side of I-295 form existing sound barrier protecting the Tiffany Pines subdivision to Ramsey Street (Hwy 401) and along north side of I-295 from McArthur Road to Ramsey Street (Hwy 401).
