UPDATE ON PETITION == NOT ACCEPTABLE CHIEF RHODES AND CHAIRMAN LAZERUS! (LETTER FROM CHIEF RHODES AND REPLY TO CHIEF RHODES AND CHAIRMAN LAZERUS!)

Ms. Cherry,

Thank you very much for your interest in assisting the Horry County Police Department in this case, however at this time we are not requesting the assistance of Findme2. The Horry County Police Department is currently using the services of another search and rescue agency and we actually have established relationships with two search agencies.

We have previously searched for Ms. Elvis by land, air and water in all areas that we had reason to believe that she may be located; without additional information I do not believe that another search is currently necessary.

When we do receive additional information it is likely that we will contact the agency that has already been assisting us with this case; however if they are unavailable I will most certainly reach out to the Findme2 agency for assistance.
Again thank you very much for your desire to assist and should we need any volunteers in the future I will reach out to you as well.

Chief Rhodes, (and members of the Horry County Council),

I do applaud you for your quick response, but I must inform all of you, your answer is not acceptable by any means! This would not cost you money, yet you refuse to let 'findme2' come there and use their 'tools' to search the areas and terrain they feel she may be.

My understanding is they bring their own team in, they do not need assistance 'physically' from 'your law enforcement team', only someone to 'verbally communicate' with during the massive search they will commit to, and it is very common, that people have been found in the same areas that have been previously been searched!

The 'residents' of Horry County, the 'vacationers' that come to 'Myrtle Beach' from 'around the world', have 'proven' their desires to have this team come there and try 'their' approach' to find Miss Elvis!!! If this was your child, Chief Rhodes, your child Chairman Lazerus, you would NOT be so quick to dismiss a professional team of search and rescue to aide in finding your child, and the fact 'they will absorb the cost, because 'they believe' they 'can accomplish what your other outside teams have eluded them', there is simply no excuse to say no!

I have mailed you the comments yesterday by your residents and some from around the world, they are also 'baffled' by your' quick dismissa'l of this 'free search'. "Not acceptable Chief Rhodes", "not acceptable Chairman Lazerus"!

The petition will go on, and other legislatures 'will' be called into play. When the elections come up in December for Chairman Lazerus, you just may be surprised how many residents will remember you 'not' helping to make this happen! They will remember the ones who stood up for them!

**Kelly; Thank you for all your help with our missing person in the City of Perry, Kansas. Our victim Mr. Shawn Fowler was found about an eight of a mile from his home. He was found floating in the Delaware River within 100 feet of one of the GPS readings your team provided. He was found at approximately 1345 hours on March 19,2009. The river had been searched a couple of times by boat and scanner with no results the day prior to the body coming to the surface. The residents of Horry County and friends around the Country, wish to implement the FINDME2 professional search and rescue non-profit group to search and recover Miss Heather Elvis.

The Findme2 search and rescue team have many assets to utilize during their searches, such as search management, multi disciplinary search coordination, ground search teams, canine search teams, (findme2 has teamed up with Arizona Search Track & Rescue (AZ-STAR) AZ-STAR provides to the public 'free of charge' trained air scent, trailing and cadaver dogs to assist law enforcement in locating missing persons. AZ-STAR accuracy is 100% when the target victim is located anywhere in the search grid regardless of the terrain),air search teams, dive teams, aerial surveillance photos, and 'over 100 vetted intuitives' world wide.

Because this will 'NOT' cost the County any additional money, because of their '100% success rate' with their 'canine search team' within their 'search grids', and BECAUSE the recovery of Heather Elvis has so far ELUDED any previous searches, we believe it is the RESPONSIBILITY of the County Of Horry Council Members to ISSUE the Findme2 Group 'APPROVAL' to search for Miss Elvis, and as a professional team, will work with the Horry County Investigations Team to ACHIEVE A SUCCESSFUL RECOVERY OF HEATHER ELVIS.
