Thank you but no-one responded.
The Bible message is quite clear that Jesus says God does provide for us because he created us, he loves us and he is all powerful.
Jesus did not get his own food, drink or clothing but in bringing the good news of the kingdom was provided for as he went along.
Christianity fails to appreciate the depth of God's providence however and most of the world cannot see that God is active in the world.
God does not need the mundane things of this world to bring about his kingdom.
Daily I am more and more convinced of God's providence and the dire need for it to be fully recognised and carefully defined (because misinterpretation could be dangerous).
That the Catholic Church should decree as a dogma of the Church that Jesus trusted absolutely in the Divine Providence of His Father (in particular with regard to the provision of his food, drink and clothing: Mt 6:25-34 and Luke 12:22-31). Relatedly Jesus also did not use money (Mt 6:24) and had no possessions (Mt 6:21 and Mt 19:21).
The The Dogma of Divine Providence petition to The Pope was written by Richard Doolan and is in the category Religion at GoPetition.
