Recognize the urgent need to protect our bird population in Saskatoon. Northern flickers, black-capped chickadees, yellow-bellied sapsuckers, bluejays, Virginia rails, belted kingfishers, American robins, common nighthawks, Swainson's thrushes, rose-breasted grosbeaks, dark-eyed juncos, yellow warblers, house sparrows, cedar waxwings, common yellowthroats, orange-crowned warblers, merlins, downy woodpeckers, common grackles, black-billed magpies, bohemian waxwings, ovenbirds, Lincoln's sparrows, Tennessee warblers, spotted towhees, house wrens, and white-throated sparrows—116 in total—perished in 2023 due to window collisions.

Prevention of bird window collision

According to Sibley Guide’s investigation, window collision is the 1st of the unnatural reason for bird death. Every year may have eight million birds dies because of bird window collision in Korea. And Taiwan's buildings are more than Korea's, so we guess the amount of bird window collisions is close to eight million or even more.
In Taiwan, there are few pieces of information about bird window collisions. Although some Non-Governmental Organizations are trying to collect or record them, until 2020, there are only about seven hundred pieces of information.
The Taiwan government seems they don't pay much attention to this issue, there are many buildings in Taiwan without the facility to avoid the happening of bird window collisions. If this condition doesn't be improved, more and more birds will die because of window collisions.

Stop animal testing

Every year, more than 100 million animals including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds are killed U.S. Before they die, some are forced to inhale toxic smokes ,others are immobilised in restraint devices for hours , some have holes drilled into their skulls, and others have their skin burned off or their spinal cords crushed. Animals have souls, feel pain and love. This kind of cruelty is not acceptable. Animals are living beings. Please sign this petition to help stop ✋ animal testing

End the cat and dog meat trade.

The cat and dog meat trade takes place in Asia. Animals Asia has found out that In China alone, 10 million dogs and 4 million cats, are slaughtered for the dog meat trade every year. Dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, Most still wearing their collars, are snatched from the streets and forced into tiny cages. Many suffer broken limbs as they are transported vast distances, without food or water. When they finally arrive at the dog meat markets, injured, dehydrated and exhausted, they are forced to watch in terror as other dogs die or are thrown still alive into boiling hot water to remove their skins.

This is not acceptable. Dogs and cats are living beings and deserve to live a happy and healthy life. Please sign this petition and help end the cat and dog meat trade.

Its Time to Change the Way the Law Values Our Family Pets: Support S.1131 in Massachusetts

Did you know that the Massachusetts legislature and courts view our cherished family pets like an ordinary piece of personal property? Right now, if your pet dog or cat is killed through the negligent or reckless act of someone other than the owner, its "value" is no more than the cost of another. It's time to change the law to recognize your beloved pet is worth more than just replacement value. Senate Bill 1131 (S.1131 - formerly SD.25) which has been sponsored by Sen. Bruce Tarr (R-1st Essex & Middlesex District) and is now up for review by a joint conference of legislators from the House and Senate, seeks to amend section 77 of chapter 272 of the Massachusetts General Laws by allowing for pet owners to be reimbursed not only for the fair monetary value of a dog or cat killed through someone's willful, wanton, reckless or negligent act, but also for court and attorney fees, afterlife expenses and other reasonable damages, plus non-economic damages, including, but not limited to, loss of comfort, protection, companionship, and emotional distress up to a monetary cap of $30,000. Damages under this new section 77D of chapter 272 of the Massachusetts General Laws shall be sought under an action of tort by the aggrieved pet owner no later than three years after the death of the pet or such time as it reasonably could have been known that the dog or cat had been killed.

A new form of animal abuse. Fake youtube animal rescue channels. This has to be stopped asap. Youtube threatens to close the accounts of those who report these channels. We need Youtube to understand that they literaly are supporting Animal rights (and lives) being totally destroyed on youtube by these channels. I have a link explaining this in more details.

Save Morocco's Working Animals

All over the developing world, animals support poor families. Donkeys and mules in particular are used to carry heavy loads and toil in the fields in blistering heat.

Jarjeer Mule and Donkey Refuge is a retirement home, orphanage and care centre for working equines in the foothills of the Atlas near Marrakech. They offer emergency medical care and sanctuary to the aged, disabled and abandoned donkey and mule. None of our donkeys or mules are ever tethered at Jarjeer. They enjoy real freedom for the first time in their lives! I and many others are proud to support them as they have become a hub of kindness and compassion bringing together the local community, staff, visitors and those in need both equine and human.

Since the start of the corona pandemic. Morocco closed its borders on March 26th. This had a devastating effect on the tourist trade leaving huge swathes of the population without income and fighting to survive. Working animals have poor owners and are being left abandoned to starve. This includes the caleche horses in Marrakech. Evidence is available on charity websites and in the press.

Stop Liverpool Councils Slaughter

On the 10th of February 2020 Liverpool council plan to bait the region of Holsworthy Military base and surrounds with the chemical 1080.

This chemical is proven to be deadly to any living thing that stumbles upon it being highly toxic to humans, livestock and pets. The council has aimed its guns at “wild dogs” - Dingoes and foxes.

Regardless of their category being that of a “pest”, these animals are living, breathing beings.

Save the Hermit Crabs

There are over 500 to 600 species of Hermit Crabs around the world, many of which are stolen from their homes of South America, Ecuador, and the Caribbean, to be packaged and transported over a 1000 miles away to be caged up behind suffocating walls and resold as house pets. What these pet stores and pet owners may not know is that these "pets" are not animals who can be simply thrown into an aquarium tank.

Hermit Crabs have very specific and unique behavioral and physical needs that are imperative in order for survival. Hermit Crabs require a controlled, highly humid, environment so their modified gills are able to breathe, but if the climate is too hot or dry, along with not being hot enough, they will slowly suffocate and die. Giving hermit crabs tap water, painting their shells with toxic decorative paint, not having an appropriate type/depth of substrate to facilitate the molting process, not maintaining their demanding diet, and cleaning their tank with chemical based cleaners will cause fatality amongst these innocent crabs. Along with the slow torture these crabs experience as house pets, even if these essential needs were sustained, hermit crabs do not live long in captivity. They need room to grow, companionship, fresh salt water, and places to explore that only a native habitat can provide. In the natural habitats of the tropical seashores,

Hermit crabs can live for more than 30 years, but after being purchased, their life expectancy decreases to only a couple months. Hermit Crabs are not meant to be caged, or kept as pets. They thrive in large colonies, highly humid climates and areas to explore and forage, not behind plastic walls and painted shells.

There are many people who are criticising animals in our Country i e. India ..as we can see in many parts of India, ther are many stray pets, we should adopt and give them home ...They need love , I choose this Petition : Justice for Animals because i think animals are always made with love by God , so they have their rights to enjoy their life peacefully as this World is also theirs.

Every day, countless cats, dogs and other animals suffer and die at the hands of the very people who are supposed to care for and protect them. Physical violence, emotional abuse and life-threatening neglect are daily realities for many animals. Their only hope is that a kind person will speak up before it’s too late.Animal hoarders are not merely people who have a few too many animals – they are individuals whose mental illness or compulsion can cause criminal behaviour with horrific consequences for animals, the hoarders’ families and their communities. Hoarders exist in virtually every community and include members of every socio-economic status, gender and education level. An increasingly common and disturbing trend involves hoarders who operate under the guise of being “shelters” or “rescues”. Hundreds of sick, starved, wounded, dying and dead animals have been found in raids of such institutional hoarding facilities.For everyone’s safety, it’s vital for law-enforcement officials and communities to treat cases of cruelty to animals seriously and to ensure that animal abusers are appropriately prosecuted and sentenced.
