The population of Ukraine faces an unprecedented onslaught by the Russian Federation's war machine. Sanctioning is not enough. NATO and its allies must provide an umbrella of protection to millions of innocent people, otherwise the killing will continue for an indefinite period of time.
Let us convince NATO countries' leaders and NATO leadership that action is needed! Your signature can make all the difference between life and death.

REJECT KENYA'S CONTINUED TRADE OFFS ON WOMEN'S LIVES

On 22nd October 2020 - the United States (US) Health and Human Services Administration jointly together with the US State Department issued a joint statement dubbed the Geneva Consensus Declaration. The joint statement was co-sponsored by the states of Hungary, Brazil, Egypt, Uganda and Indonesia and further co-signed by twenty-six states among them Kenya. This document is part of an ongoing global campaign by a number of states to undermine women’s sexual reproductive health rights already recognized and adopted by the United Nations and relevant treaties and conventions for which Kenya is party to and has domesticated as guided by Article 2(5) and 2(6) of the Constitution.

Whilst not binding, the joint statement nevertheless has the unfortunate effect of creating unnecessary legal, policy and service delivery hurdles and prevailing confusion that will obstruct interventions by Kenya to address the persistently high numbers of women and girls dying due to pregnancy-related complications, particularly unsafe abortion. Kenya’s Constitution obliges the state to protect the reproductive rights of women, including the right to safe abortion under Article 26(4), a right that was also recently upheld by the Courts in Constitutional Petition No. 266 of 2015.

The international communities and the NATO allies should put Turkey's NATO membership on a trial to review their act of treason and war crimes that's committed by Turkish Army and their continuous action against the Kurds in Eastern Syria as well as parts of Northern Iraq. ( Wherever Kurds are ). We are raising awareness that the power of NATO have been abused by the Turks and now they are trying to invade Syria for recreating their Ottoman empire dream.

Lift the Visa Requirements of ASEAN Citizens to EU

This petition is intended for all ASEAN member states to convince the European Union to reciprocate the travel freedom of its citizens as the same manner the ASEAN member states are granting to the citizens of European Union. Tourism is a fast growing and huge industry which the ASEAN member states are some of the countries that offer lots of tourist destinations to everyone without a need of a visa for most citizens of the world. European travelers can visit the ASEAN region in a very smooth manner as they are granted with a free visa access to all the ASEAN member state. However, in the case of ASEAN travelers are opposite since they need to go through a process of acquiring a Schengen Visa that could take them a lot of time and money. This process should be taken into consideration that a reciprocal agreement should be done by both ASEAN and EU to grant the same privilege to all ASEAN citizens who wish to travel to European Union region.

PLEASE ACT TO AVERT A CIVIL WAR IN CAMEROON

CAMEROON'S NEED FOR A TIMELY WORD FROM WASHINGTON

1. As has been widely reported by the United Nations, NGOs in-country, and veteran reporters on the Africa beat, the nation of Cameroon is sinking deeper into crisis; the English-speaking border lands, officially the "Northwest Region" and the "Southwest Region," are caught in a multifaceted downward spiral. Repression from the central government has increased and local non-violent resistance is turning into an armed struggle. Fears are mounting that civil war will soon break out.

2. This is first and foremost a humanitarian crisis. Yet, it is also a strategic concern: the two Regions border Nigeria and thus serve as frontline staging areas for the common effort against Boko Haram. Civil war in Cameroon will gravely impair that effort; worse, it may even serve as a temptation to Boko Haram to intervene in Cameroon, thus spreading its terrorism.

3. Perhaps even more worrisome, civil war in Cameroon will seriously cripple the larger international effort in Central and Western Africa, particularly in the Sahel, against the increasing dangers posed by both ISIS and al-Qaeda affiliates. Failing states are powerful magnets for terrorists.

4. While American troops are already present in Central and Western Africa, no military intervention is requested. This issue is not one for the United States Africa Command, but rather for the United States Department of State. The intervention that we request is purely civilian and advisory. Three steps are requested:

a. A diplomatic démarche in the capital of Yaoundé would apprise President Paul Biya that the United States is deeply concerned about the worsening situation in the two Anglophone Regions and the increasing risk that the violence there will burst into a full-scale civil war;

b. The United States stands prepared to send teams of teachers to re-staff the schools which have been closed in much of the two Regions, and likewise to send development experts to help the two Regions regain their economic footing; and

c. The United States is further prepared to initiate an international conference on development for the nexus of Central and Western Africa, so that this geographical area, so rich in human and natural resources, can achieve the stability and the progress which alone would suffice to repel the rising tide of terrorism and to guarantee the citizens of all the neighboring nations genuine hope for the future.

5. To this end, we stand prepared, upon request, to submit any affidavits or other forms of information which could supplement the facts gathered by the United States Embassy in Yaoundé, so as to increase the likelihood of a successful American appeal to President Biya and, overall, increase the prospect of ending the downward spiral in the Northwest and Southwest Regions, thereby setting an example for all of Central and Western Africa – an example which both the President of the United States and the President of Cameroon could point to with pride.

International Day of Family Remittances Endorsement

The International Day of Family Remittances (IDFR) aims at recognizing the fundamental contribution of migrant workers to the wellbeing of their communities of origin. The Day was unanimously proclaimed by all 176 Member States of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in February 2015. Since then, the IDFR has received much encouragement and support from the public and private sectors, and development organizations.
Proclaiming an International Day of Family Remittances represents an opportunity for institutions to recognize the efforts of migrants globally and strengthen current cross-industry partnerships and create new synergies among sectors to promote the development impact of remittances worldwide and join together to help reach the ultimate goal of making migration for future generations more of a choice than a necessity.

International Identity Day

Many important issues on the international development and human rights agenda have an observance day. For example, 10 December is Human Rights Day, while 20th of June is Refugee Day. It is time for identity to have a day of observance.

International days of observance are an effective and practical way to raise awareness and generate momentum around an issue. According to the UN "United Nations observances contribute to the achievement of the purposes of the UN Charter and promote awareness of and action on important political, social, cultural, humanitarian or human rights issues. They provide a useful means for the promotion of international and national action and stimulate interest in United Nations activities and programmes."

Require US embassy to inform American citizens marrying Japanese nationals of Japan's lack of joint custody and child abduction laws

Research shows an estimated 7000 US citizens are currently unable to see their child/children following a divorce with a Japanese national. Japan is one of the only developed countries in the world that lacks joint custody laws. In fact, the Japanese court often awards custody of a child following a divorce to the parent who abducts the child. US nationals are required to notarize their marriage certificate at the US embassy following a marriage. I petition the US embassy to notify all US nationals of the risk of marrying a Japanese national. Namely that if that US national has children and divorces their Japanese spouse,, they risk never seeing their child/children again.

Nanking Massacre Petition for 80th Anniversary in December 2017

Over a period of about six weeks starting on December 13, 1937, a huge number (around 300,000) of Chinese, mostly civilians including women and children, were massacred by the Japanese army in Nanking (now called Nanjing). Countless women and girls were also raped.

These gruesome events were recorded by eye witnesses from around the world, including Americans, Germans, British, Japanese, Chinese, as well as many other nationalities, and were documented in diaries, home movies, and oral interviews. Here are a few such examples:
- "The Good Man of Nanking: The Diaries of John Rabe" by John Rabe
- "The Undaunted Women of Nanking: The Wartime Diaries of Minnie Vautrin and Tsen Shui-Fang," edited and translated by Hua-ling Hu and Zhang Lian-hong
- "John Magee's Testament"
- "Torn Memories of Nanking" by Tamaki Matsuoka
- "The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II" by Iris Chang
- UNESCO's Memory of the World Register: "Documents of the Nanjing Massacre"

Yet the Japanese government still denies such atrocities 80 years after their occurrence. For the sake of justice, history not repeating itself, and world peace, this situation must change.
