Say No To Water Fluoridation On The Isle Of Man

The Manx Government is considering adding artificial fluoridation chemicals to the Isle of Man public water supply, which would force every island resident to ingest these chemicals - with or without consent.

Most countries do not fluoridate their water, because modern science shows that water fluoridation can slow children’s development and lower IQ, cause Dental Fluorosis, Skeletal Fluorosis and joint pain and possibly cause cancer.

The Manx Public Health Directorate will present its report and recommendations by December 2023, which will be placed on the Tynwald register in February 2024.

If you are a Manx resident, please sign our petition to show that you do not want artificial fluoridation chemicals added to the Manx public water supply. Thank you.

Save Bradda from Overdevelopment

The Bradda Group are looking to reverse the government's recent decision to authorise a developer to build a massive 72 bedroom private institution on Bradda, Port Erin.

WHY? Remember Salisbury care home? £7.9 million of taxpayers money "Squandered"?

The Manx Government originally owned and sold the land to this developer. The developer built the "private" Salisbury care home on his recently purchased land. Then, as soon as it was completed, the Manx Government bought back the care home from this developer for a whopping £7.9m.
According to the Manx Examiner, the developer made a profit of over £2m on this deal. That is over £2m of taxpayers money. Our money.

Now, this exact same developer, who has also built a string of care homes in Scarborough, Nuneaton, Newtown ( Powys), purchases a greenfield (never built on in the history of Man) and a house, separated by a public road (which is a public right of way), in Bradda, Port Erin, (a semi-rural area), and is swiftly granted planning approval by our Government for a massive and relentless 72 bedroom institution...

Tynwald Mills Ice Rink should go ahead

Tynwald Mills have been refused planning permission to host the Ice Rink this year, the appeal process is ongoing but it’s not looking promising.
Last year alone 11,000 people enjoyed the use of the ice rink. Local schools were offered subsidises sessions and toddler sessions ran free of charge most mornings. On top of that the organisers have donated a whopping £25,000 to charity every year since 2015. Our Island needs businesses like this, and as a community I think we owe it to them to show our support. I don’t think we should sit back and watch it being taken away because of planning discrepancies.
If anyone else out there feels as passionately about this cause as I do and wants to show Tynwald Mills the support and recognition they rightly deserve, please take a moment to add your signature to this petition.
Thanks,

Isle of Man Off Road facility/track for Motorcycles

The Isle of Man Government was approached over two years ago regarding setting up a off road facility for motorcycle riders on the Isle of Man.

Phil Gawne gave the plan the green light prior to his departure of DEFA. Our proposal has subsequently been dropped by that Government department.

Please sign this petition to show your support and get this off the ground!

Lets have a proper enduro and motocross facility on the Isle of Man which will be open to the public for all ages! We can provide a fabulous training facility for our great upcoming riders! Somewhere you can turn up with your bike and have some fun! Arrive and ride!

Add Manx nationality option to the Isle of Man Census

The Isle of Man interim census has been sent out this week. Question 8 asks the persons nationality – the options available are: British, Irish, Polish, Filipino, South African, Portuguese, German or Other.

As a Manx born person with Manx parents and grandparents, it seems outrageous that on an Isle of Man census, there is no option for Manx as a nationality!

When I complete my form, I will be ticking other and in the comments stating MANX!

Support for the retention of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway

Douglas Borough Council (Isle of Man) has announced that it has discontinued operation of the historic Douglas Bay Horse Tramway. The Tramway is 140 years old in 2016 and is the last remaining horse-drawn passenger tramway in the World, complete with its original 1877 stables and 1896 tramcar depot.

Friends of Douglas Bay Horse Tramway believe that the Tramway forms an intrinsic part of the Island's heritage offering to visitors; it is an icon for both Douglas and the Isle of Man.

This petition has been set-up to show the level of support that we know exists both on the Island and around the World for this service to be retained and financially supported by both Douglas Borough Council and the Manx Government

Save our local Post Offices

We have been told today that two post offices on the Isle of Man are to close and that sub offices are to be set up in local Spar shops. This is an absolute disgrace and travesty.

We need the post offices more than ever these days with regards to the elderly collecting their pensions weekly, posting parcels to the UK and abroad, and applying for all our vehicle licencing needs etc.

We need to stand up and fight for what we believe in. This is time for the island to unite and stand together against unjust decisions being made without any thought to the man/woman on the street.

The post offices are part of our community and need to be SAVED.
