The Sanctuary does not affect fishing in state waters at all. It also will allow for locally registered fishing boats to fish in Domestic Fishing Zone - a large area encircling the island withing Palau's Exclusive Economic Zone.

We urge the Olbiil Era Kelulau to pass this bill so that our nation, our economy, our traditions, and our people can continue to thrive.
