We are calling on all Thai people to pressure their business to instruct their staff to ask: "Do you need a plastic bag?"

Thailand is the 6th worst-offending country for plastic that ends in the oceans, in the world.

Our plastic ends up in the street, in our canals, in the rivers, on our beaches and in the oceans. It is poisonous to us and suffocating for wildlife. And it looks ugly!

- Every year, the floods in Thailand are worse as plastic bags clog sewers and canals.
- Plastic in our oceans is turning the fish we eat toxic. Enjoy your sushi ...
- Plastic kills our marine life, our fish, our turtles and our birds.

Worst of all. Plastic takes 1,000 years to degrade. So please help us to take the challenge to retailers, supermarkets and convenience stores.

พลาสติกที่เราใช้จะถูกทิ้งลงถนน คลอง แม่น้ำ หรือ ทะเล ซึ่งจะก่อให้เกิดมลพิษทางน้ำและยังทำร้ายสัตว์น้ำต่างๆ และยังทำให้ทุกๆ ที่ไม่น่าดู

Every year hundreds of acres of forest are destroyed by setting fire to it to grow the ever increasing hunger for corn. Consequently all these fields and crop waste are set on fire at every harvest. And the burning is not just limited to the farm fields, but it is common practice and even tradition to burn anything around you as way to “clean the mess”.

As the burning was limited to two or three months in the past, the blue haze is now present for most of the year. The secondary effects of deforestation and burning are rapidly starting to show as well. Increase in asthma cases, flooding, drought, heat, mudslides, etc.

There is no visible action from (local) government accept a few posters along the road. Actually a lot of the burning and farming is done within the National Parks of Nan, often right next to a checkpoint or park office. Most of the road shoulders which are government property are set on fire as well instead of cutting them. So government and law enforcement must be aware of what is happening but it seems they are not trying to actively do anything about the problem.

As I love Nan, the beautiful scenery and the amazing people that live here, it hurts me to see the destruction that is happening. I hope this petition will help to start a change for the better before it will be too late. On behave of all citizens of Nan and those affected, I Thank you for your help!

There is a process called forced breeding, where a female elephant is chained with her front legs together and her back legs wide apart so she has no means of escape. A group of bulls (male elephants) are released and commence to rape the female. This process occurs for months, even after she is impregnated, all the way up until she gives birth. It can be so physically straining that the female elephant might break her back, and so mentally traumatizing that, upon giving birth, she might kill her baby because she is so terrified for its future.

Baby elephants are tortured so that they will be broken and moldable by their owners. They are taken away from their mothers far too early so that they can learn to paint pictures (elephant painting is a famous attraction for tourists in Thailand). The mahouts (elephant riders) use sharp hooks on the end of sticks to hit the elephants very hard on the sensitive skin behind and inside their ears, their neck, and their eyes. They use slingshots to shoot unwilling elephants directly into the eyeballs, more often than not with the result of blinding them.

After this sort of treatment, a broken baby elephant no longer cries for its mother or nanny - it does not even recognize them. There is also a process called the Phajaan, which refers to the breaking of the elephants to do the mahouts’ bidding. One aspect of the Phajaan is the Crush. This is when a young elephant is chained into an extremely tight cage with his/her legs each to a post for days. It is constantly physically abused until its spirit is “crushed”, the will taken completely out of it, so that it can be under the mahouts’ control. Treatment as awful as this continues for the elephants’ entire life.

They grow up forced to do manual labour. In a process called elephant logging, elephants must drag extremely heavy logs through forests up mountains. Lek told the story of an old elephant who had a mahout on his back and a chain around his chest with a large log attached. Deep gouge marks in his chest marked where the chain was cutting into his flesh, and he was screaming in pain but mahout continued to yell at him and hit him with the hook. Forced to continue, the chain dug even deeper into the elephant’s widening cut. There is also something in Thailand called elephant begging.

Elephants are taken into large, scary, bustling cities and forced to beg for money from tourists. Many of them are hit by cars, and the city scene traumatizes them. They do not belong in cities. They do not belong at the disposal of humans.

The Tigers live in poor conditions, get a beating if they do something not allowed or get urine sprayed in the face, or drugged.

Buying property in Thailand may seem easy when the buyer is advised by a good lawyer. But is it?

Unfortunately, many of the sellers which includes real-estate agents, banks, law firms, developers and builders see themselves as being able to bend or be above the law. The sinking funds can disappear, even though promised to be used for major building work in the years to come, as the building gets in need of general repair. They can forget to give contracts that are compliant with the law. They can delay building, even not build, how? They lie to buyers, or nearly finish, then apply the law to the buyer to pay up or lose everything.

The law firms can by whatever means available give their client the builder developer a free ride, no duty of care, no recognition of the buyers' legal or consumer rights. The law firm can broker loans with banks, using the deeds (Chonot) of your property, have accounts amended to facilitate lending criteria, then adding a first charge to Chonot (title deed), at transfer stage with the land Office, unknown to buyer. The banks can accept Chonots with their charge on against a loan, sidestepping the facts of real ownership, even ignoring the very basic principles of banking law and their compliance as stated on their charter to the public and consumers using its services and their shareholders rights.

The land registry office and the issue of Chonots should one would think be a safety net, catching out any fraudulent claim on them. The C J P Juristic person appointed by the developers management team, maybe not the best person to rely on for factual information that conflicts with their employers statements to Land Registry office or the circle of contempt.

Consumer Protection, Police, D S I and local government offices help as much as possible. But many situations are deliberately structured and made so complex that the time required to decipher and produce clear evidence of deception is beyond the remit of the consumer bodies willing to help.

Asbestos is an occupational and environmental hazard of catastrophic proportions. Globally, each year, an estimated 125 million people are occupationally exposed to asbestos, and 90,000 die from asbestos diseases and it will cause millions more deaths worldwide in the nearest future.

Exposure to any type of asbestos increases the risk of lung cancer, mesothelioma and nonmalignant lung and pleural disorders including asbestosis, pleural plaques, pleural thickening, and pleural effusions. I, as a global citizen, feel compelled to express my hope and desire for you to ban Asbestos in your country.
