The NSW RTA is proposing changes to the current registration system for modified vehicles.

These changes will mean that the majority of modified vehicles will be classified as individually constructed and will have to comply with the ADR's current on the day that it goes for registration.

No to Double Car Tax by the D.V.L.A.

On the 07 February I purchased a car in a private sale. I must tax the car from the 01 February. However there is road tax in force for that car until the 28 February. The previous owner of the car can not claim a refund on the unused portion of the tax as it is mid-way through a month and the D.V.L.A only refund a full month. Therefore, the D.V.L.A. are receiving tax twice for the month of February for that vehicle, around £25.00.

If you multiply this by the number of vehicles purchased throughout the country, throughout a month, and with car tax being up to £800 a year for many larger, prestige vehicles, this may easily run in to tens of thousands of pounds being paid twice. Every month. It is only the vehicle that needs to be taxed, not the keeper. Therefore any reasonable person would consider it right and fair that they as a new keeper would automatically buy road tax from the date of expiry of the current one in force. No laws would be broken and no one would be out of pocket.

Since beginning this petition, I have also discovered that if you buy a brand new car and it comes with the first year free of road tax, and you sell it within that first year, the new owner does not get the remainder of the year free, but has to tax it at the second year rate. How can the D.V.L.A ever justify this?

This current scheme is only a sneaky scheme to make extra money.

I have written to my M.P. John Whittingdale. He has replied and passed my letter to the minister responsible. I have also sent e.mails to BBC's Watchdog, and the editor of Top Gear and the press officer at the R.A.C. Please support me by signing this and then 'sharing' it among your friends.

PLEASE DON'T THINK I HAVE IGNORED THIS. I HAVE HAD EDITORIALS IN LOCAL AND NATIONAL PRESS, EXCHANGED CORRESPONDANCE WITH THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE, THE DVLA AND BBC's WATCHDOG.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT ME.

NO TO MOTORCYCLE ARF INCREMENT

Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat announced a new tiered tax system for motorcycles on 20 Feb 2017. Under the new system, the 15% Additional Registration Fee (ARF) will stay for motorcycles with an OMV of up to S$5000. The subsequent S$5000 of its OMV will incur an ARF of 50%, and the remaining OMV above S$10000 will come with an ARF of 100%.

What is the rational behind this move?
If Singapore's goal is to curb road congestion shouldn't we encourage mode of transport such as motorcycling by reducing the taxes?
Motorcycles do not contribute as much to congestion as cars so why are motorcyclist subjected to the same tax amount as cars?

No F1 in brutal Bahrain

The 2011 Bahraini uprising, sometimes called the February 14 Revolution is a series of demonstrations, amounting to a sustained campaign of civil resistance, in the Persian Gulf country of Bahrain.

As part of the revolutionary wave of protests in the Middle East and North Africa following the self-immolation of Mohammed Bouazizi in Tunisia, the Bahraini protests were initially aimed at achieving greater political freedom and equality for the majority Shia population, and expanded to a call to end the monarchy of King Hamad following a deadly night raid on 17 February against protesters at the Pearl Roundabout in Manama.

Protesters in Manama camped out for days at the Pearl Roundabout, which functioned as the centre point of protests there. After a month, the government requested troops and police from the Gulf Cooperation Council, which arrived on 14 March, and a day later, the king of Bahrain declared martial law and a three-month state of emergency.

The police response has been described as a "brutal" crackdown on peaceful and unarmed protestors, including doctors and bloggers. The police carried out midnight house raids in Shia neighborhoods, beatings at checkpoints, and denial of medical care in a campaign of intimidation. More than 2,929 people have been arrested, and at least four people have been returned dead after being detained in custody.

The Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry was established on 29 June 2011 by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to assess the incidents that occurred in the Kingdom during the period of unrest in February and March 2011 and the consequences of these events. The Commission reported its findings on 23 November 2011.

Well it's not SAFE for us and we want the world to put on the table the human rights FIRST not the money & the interests.

If the news about the return of F1 in the US passed you by, that could be because the most discussed issue of the recently released 2012 Formula One calendar was the inclusion of the Grand Prix of Bahrain.

Canceled in 2011, Bahrain is experiencing what some have called a “human rights” issue and others have leveled torture and other crimes at the hands of the ruling royal family’s government. The year 2011 has seen a series of challenges and human rights concerns in the Middle East.

The 2011 race was eventually canceled due to the political unrest in the nation kingdom but the government of Bahrain says it’s safe to come back and 2012 is looking fine. !!

1. Two protesters sentenced to death were convicted -under torture- of murdering two policemen in April. Bahrain's state-run news agency said the Cassation Court on Monday postponed their appeals' hearing until Jan9 2011

2. MEDICS' APPEAL POSTPONED UNTIL 9 JANUARY
The appeal hearing before a civilian court of 20 Bahraini health professionals sentenced by a military court has been postponed until 9 January.

The 20 health professionals were sentenced on 29 September 2011 to between five and 15 years in prison, by a military court, in connection with popular anti-government protests in February and March. On 28 November they attended the second hearing of their appeal before the High Criminal Court of Appeal. An Amnesty International delegation was present in court, as were delegations of other NGOs and foreign media.

3. The movement in Bahrain on 2011 started on Feb14 and this date was chosen because it was the tenth anniversary of a referendum in favour of the National Action Charter of Bahrain.[43] Bahraini youths described their plans as an appeal for Bahrainis "to take to the streets on Monday 14 February in a peaceful and orderly manner" in order to rewrite the constitution and to establish a body with a "full popular mandate to investigate and hold to account economic, political and social violations, including stolen public wealth, political naturalisation, arrests, torture and other oppressive security measures, [and] institutional and economic corruption."[1] They referred to the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt as motivations for their appeal.

So it's expected to have another protests on that date again.

Finally,
Bahrain admits using 'excessive force' during protests
Torture Used on Protesters in Bahrain, Report Says
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/24/world/middleeast/report-details-excessive-force-used-against-bahrain-protests.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone remains hopeful that the Bahrain GP will go ahead in 2012, but admits he may have to change his mind if definitive evidence of human rights abuses came to light.

Stay In, Stay Safe - The Kevin Ward Jr. Rule

On 8/9/14 Kevin Ward Jr. was tragically and accidentally killed in an on-track incident by famed dirt and Nascar driver Tony Stewart.

Not only was it an accident but it could have been prevented by stiffer penalties for on track behavior.

This was an unthinkable tragedy that is sure to impact the future of Dirt racing and auto racing all over and most of all, the families involved.

We want a State Drag Racing Facility in South Australia

We in South Australia have been left without a Drag Racing Facility for quite a few years now. We have no Sanctioned Racing and not even any Street Meets.

The Car community of Adelaide is suffering well because of this. We need to do something. We need to band together to get a state facility built here.

If other states can do it, so can we. There are currently NO plans for a State Drag Racing Facility for South Australia that we are aware of, this issue needs to be addressed.

The Motorsport community has suffered enough.

I call on all car enthusiasts and drag racers of South Australia and Australia to band together to enforce the need here for a State Drag Racing facility.

Let's get together as a Vehicle Enthusiasts Community should, and let the Government know that we WANT them to acknowledge our need for the above.

Legalisering Airride

TESLA should allow retrofitting a trailer hitch onto older Model 3 in EU!

Tesla does not want earlier Model 3s in Europe to be retrofitted with a trailer hitch. We want to know WHY Tesla chooses not to allow this. The company claims that European legislation does not allow this, but this is NOT true. Existing type approvals can be amended to allow retrofitting. It is up to the manufacturer (Tesla in this case) to allow this. Therefore we want more clarity on the reasons why.

Legalise car cruising UK

Police/councils/courts have sucsessfully put bans in place for car cruising in the UK area especially the Birmingham side. I am setting this petition up so the local authorities will help us create a LEGAL hotspot for us all to meet up and do fully organised events. Of course.

I am looking for the public to help sign this petition so they can stop fining us and taking our cars of us, and to get something built for us to actually us.

The reason why we do what we do is because of the local authority moving us on and closing our locations up so we can't use it, which then leaves us to do it on main roads where housing are causing disturbances.

So if u agree on my petition and want a secure location of the government then please sign the petition and share it on and tell EVERYONE to sign it also.

Thanks guys and let's all work together as a team and approach the LA to get something sorted for us.

Give the group a request to keep up to date with the petition. : https://m.facebook.com/groups/1472254262998360

Everyone is welcome.
