What started as a low-budget theatrical flop has become one of the most well-known cult classic films in the entire world.</p> <p>In 2005, this film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.</p> <p>And now, MTV, blinded by its own delusions of grandeur and apparently completely out of original ideas, is in talks to remake the cult classic with a "newer, hipper cast". The original screenplay will still be the basis of the film, but new music will reportedly be introduced to the soundtrack, thereby completely changing the integrity of the film.</p> <p>This. Needs. To. STOP! MTV will never be able to recreate the magic that surrounded this movie, nor will any performer that frequents any production that was created by MTV be able to even come close to replicating the defining performances given by the original cast.</p> <p>If you are a fan of this great movie, please sign the petition below. Trotz der weitreichenden Kritik und der schlechten Bewertungen (siehe z.B. amazon.de) weigerte sich Buena Vista, die alte Version herauszugeben. Eine Erklärung folgte prompt.</p> <p>In der Version von 1989 wurde fälschlicherweise kein vertrag abgeschlossen, welcher die Rechte der Sprecher an Buena Vista übertrug. Daher muss Buena Vista nun für jede Neuauflage an die damaligen Sprecher Tantiemen zahlen, und aus geschäftlicher Sicht ist dies natürlich zu kostspielig.</p> <p>Trotzdem wäre es doch sicherlich kein Problem den Film in einer Doppelversion herauszugeben. However despite it some of the shows that they had produced like How To Train your Dragon which has stared of as a so so type of box office run during the opening week ended up as a vastly successful franchise with loads of films and a TV sequel to come. The death of the main character is regarded like a slap in the face from the producers to the fans that have been loyal for so many years who consider that they deserved a happy ending.</p> <p>In season 3 Sara's character was absent but due to the high number of fan requests she was brought back in season 4.
