As of 2012 the team ported the mod to the newest Elder Scrolls game from its predecessor, Oblivion. Since the move the team has built up a huge following due to its quality and ambition. This rise in popularity has also drawn the eyes of Warner Bros. who currently hold the rights to The Lord of the Rings in gaming, who then issued the MERPteam a cease and desist letter.

We now need you, our fans and other gamers, to help change Warner Bros. stance on fan-made projects by showing them just how many people are behind this mod.

Your game is really impressive, but we're really disappointed because we don't have any info about Russian localization.

We ask you to think about adding a Russian localization, at least after the game release, because we all want to rate this game in full, but not all of us can speak English, French and German perfectly.

A lot of gamers from Russia and other CIS countries wait for your game, including those, who have played previous The Elder Scrolls games. Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim were localized in Russia. These games are very popular in our country nowadays.

We will be very happy if the game will be released in Russian. We’ll be quite happy with Russian subtitles and with English voice.

Over 100,000 people in Kentucky depend on the success of the Horse industry for their livelihoods. These jobs and their economic impact are vital to the future of the Commonwealth.

Due to expanded gaming, racetracks in Indiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Florida, Louisiana and other states have substantially increased their race purses. As a result, owners, trainers, horses and the jobs that are associated with them are leaving. It has left Kentucky’s racing industry struggling for its life. Race days have been cancelled and Kentucky racetracks are on the verge of closing. Kentucky Horse racing, the home of the Derby, is on the verge of meltdown.

Politicians in Frankfort have brushed this problem under the table for years, while jobs, and tax dollars have left for other states. If Frankfort doesn’t fix the problem
soon, Kentucky will lose its signature industry.

By allowing slot machines only at Kentucky’s Horse Tracks, Kentucky leaders will allow the Horse Industry to:

* Become competitive with the surrounding states by increasing purses and return high quality racing to the Commonwealth.

* Direct new money to fund education which could bring upwards of $80 million in the first year alone.

The Mac user is left out, and is unable to join this growing community of gamers and play a very fun game. Many people agree that this game should be made available for mac users, here are just a few examples of people who support the cause:

As you can see, these people any many more would like to see the game Maple Story available for the Mac computer system.

Opponents state that a Mac Maple story is not needed, referring to the fact that Mac users can run Boot camp or programs like Parallels to run windows and still play the game. But the problem with this argument is the cost for Mac users, Windows emulation programs like VM Ware and Parallels are very expensive (cost $80.00) plus the cost of a Windows XP disk (around $120.00). Even with Boot Camp (which is free, runs only on Intel Macs) you are still required to buy a Windows XP disk for Boot Camp to work. This is not fair to the Mac user because Maple Story is supposed to be a FREE game to play. It is unfair for Mac users to have to pay around 120.00 to 200.00 for a game that is free for everyone else.

Many game companies have chosen to make their games available for Mac. Games like World of Warcraft made by Bilzzard and Dofus created by Ankama have catered to the Mac user, even though this might have taken some extra work and time coding, these companies went the extra mile when thinking about their users. This games have gotten much of their popularity because of this extra effort that they put in to accommodate Mac users. I personally thank both of these companies for doing this.

UPDATE: After I collected around 1,000 signatures. I sent a customer support email to Nexon about non-compatibility for Macs. Here is the letter that I sent them:

Dear Whom It May Concern,

My name is [my real name]. I would like to submit a formal request to Nexon, the creators of the MMORPG Maplestory. I realize that you are very busy and don't have much time to read emails that are sent in to you. I'm am writing this letter because I am in the minority. I do not own a PC that runs Microsoft XP. I am a Mac user. I'm not here to complain, I bet you hear enough of that already. I just want our voice to be heard...the voice of the Mac gaming community.

There are thousands of people that would like to be able to play Maplestory, individuals that would be able to contribute and enrich the growing Maplestory community. These individuals would be paying customers earning your company valued profits, no different from the PC users already playing now. Unfortunately, the way things are, the Mac user is left out. They are unable to join this growing community of gamers and play a very fun game.

I urge you to take some time to look over this petition that I created. At the link below thousands of Mac users have signed showing their earnest support for porting Maplestory to the minority computer operation system.

Unfortunately, it seems that Nexon is not going to offer support to Mac users anytime soon. Adding further insult to injury I found out a free way to run windows on a mac (Intel Only) that does not require Boot Camp, VW Ware Fusion, Parallels, or a copy of Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or greater). The program is called WINE: Here is the step-by-step tutorial on how to install it:

But Wait, don't rush off thinking this your "holy grail" solution. It is painful to say this, but even though WINE is an amazing way to run Windows programs. Wine does not work with Maplestory. WINE HQ has a compatible list of games that work with it but Maplestory (*sob*) it DOES NOT WORK with WINE! Maplestory received a "Garbage" rating...this means that unless Maplestory is officially ported for the Mac OS there will be no Maplestory For Mac.

Project Crystallis is a fan-made organization to bring attention to two games. Namely, Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Currently exclusive to PS3) and Final Fantasy Type-0 (currently exclusive to PSP). Both these games are part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Mythology.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII:

This game has been announced roughly six years ago. Currently, the only information available to the gaming community is a few minutes of footage. Final Fantasy Versus XIII was announced at roughly the same time as Final Fantasy XIII, yet the latter game has not only had a sequel, but a third game is in the making. The aim of this project is to increase Square Enix’s transparency regarding this game as much as possible so that we may obtain more information, possibly even a release window.

Final Fantasy Type-0:

This game (originally known as Final Fantasy Agito XIII) is a role-playing game developed by Square Enix and has been released in Japan on October 27, 2011. This game is, supposedly, fully translated, however it has not yet been localized and there is no information available as to whether or not it will be. However, recent events have shown that Square Enix NA is genuinely surprised that there is this much demand for this game in the west. Thus, it may be easier to achieve this goal than the first one. Specifically, our goal is to get Square Enix to notice the demand on this game and localize it in both North America and Europe.
