HRT je jedina „javna televizija“ u Europi koja je pod izravnom kontrom aktualne vlasti.

Od osamostaljenja RH pa do parlamentarnih izbora 2000. god. kontrolu nad HRT-om imao je Franjo Tuđman i njegov HDZ. Nakon smjene vlasti 2000. god. donesen je Zakon o HRT-u u skladu s europskim demokratskim standardima, koji je predviđao izravan izbor članova Vijeća HRT-a. Tadašnja vlast je Zakon ipak donijela s figom u džepu, pri čemu je mislila da će paralelnim uvođenjem takozvanog Upravnog vijeća HRT-a zadržati i dalje kontrolu nad HRT-om. Kada je vlast na čelu s Ivicom Račanom shvatila da ne može kontrolirati izravno izabrane članove Vijeća HRT-a, pristupila je ponovnoj izmjeni Zakona o HRT-u i vratila kotač na početak. Zadnja HDZ-ova izmjena Zakona o HRT-u iz 2010. god. dokaz je nekompetentnosti, poltronstva i zlih namjera njegovih autora. Zakon je predvidio paritetnu kontrolu političkih stranaka nad HRT-om.

Zadnja verzija Zakona o HRT u donesena 2012. god. u režiji Kukuriku koalicije daljnje je pogoršanje s namjerom stavljanja HRT-a pod izravnu kontrolu vlasti. Članovi upravnih tijela HRT-a su marionete i poltroni pol. stranaka na vlasti, upravo suprotnost od onoga što Zakon o HRT-u u čl. 25 točka 9. predviđa. Omraženi pojam državne televizije iz doba vladavine komunista i simbolički je potvrđen imenovanjem Gorana Radmana za ravnatelja HRT-a, osobe koja je bila zadnji direktor HTV-a prije sloma komunizma i osamostaljenja Republike Hrvatske. Goran Radman ovog puta ne dolazi kao eksponent komunističke ideologije nego kao eksponent interesnih lobija.

Hrvatska treba novi Zakon o HRT-u koji će omogućiti konstituiranje Hrvatske radiotelevizije kao javnog medija. U suprotnom Hrvatska će ostati jedina zemlja u Europi u kojoj vlast neposredno dirigira elektronske medije, koje građani svojom pretplatom financiraju

HRT is the only television in Europe under direct control of the current government. It is called the public television and is financed by the citizens who pay a monthly subscription.

Since the independence of the Republic of Croatia until the parliamentary elections in 2000, HRT was controlled by Franjo Tudjman and his HDZ. After the change in government in 2000 the Law of HRT was enforced in line with the European democratic standards, which provided for direct election of the members of the Council of HRT. The authorities, however, passed on the Law in hope that the parallel introduction of the so-called Governing Council HRT will still make them retain the control over HRT. When the government led by Ivica Racan realized that they cannot directly control the elected members of the HRT Council, it joined the re-amending of the Law of HRT and went back to the beginning. The last HDZ amendments to the Law of HRT in 2010 are proof of incompetence and evil intentions of its founders. The Law predicted parity control of political parties over HRT .

The latest version of the HRT Law passed by the Kukuriku Coalition is further deterioration with the intention of putting HRT under the total control of the current government. Members of the governing body of HRT are puppets which is the exact opposite of what the Law of HRT in the Article 25, clause 9 states. The hated notion of the state television from the old days was symbolically confirmed by the appointment of Goran Radman for HRT Director, the person who was the last director of Croatian TV before the Croatian independence. The only difference this time is that Goran Radman is not coming as an exponent of the ideology but as an exponent of interest lobbies.

Croatia needs a new Law of HRT, which will allow the constitution of the Croatian Radio and Television as a public medium. Otherwise, Croatia will remain the only country in Europe where the government directly control the electronic media which the citizens finance.

Das Kroatische Rundfunk und Fernsehen (HRT) stehen unter der direkten Kontrolle der aktuellen Kroatischen Regierung.

Seit der Unabhängigkeit der Republik Kroatien im Jahre 1991 bis zu den Parlamentswahlen im Jahr 2000 kontrollierte die öffentlichen Medien der ehemalige Präsident Franjo Tudjman und sein HDZ. Nach dem Regierungswechsel im Jahr 2000, wurde das Rundfunkgesetz mit den europäischen demokratischen Standards weitgehend im Einklang gebracht. Die Direktwahl der Mitglieder des Rundfunkrates wurde ermöglicht. Das verabschiedete Gesetz blieb nicht lange in Kraft. Als die sozialistische Regierung unter Ivica Racan festgestellte, dass sie die frei gewählten Rundfunkratsmitglieder nicht kontrollieren kann, griff sie zur Änderung des Rundfunkgesetzes ein. Unter der HDZ Regierung wurde wiederum das Rundfunkgesetzt im Jahre 2010 geändert, wobei die Wahl der Rundfunkratsmitglieder aus den Reihen der regierenden Partei und der Oppositionsparteien vorgesehen war.

Die neueste Version des HRT Gesetzes der Kukuriku Koalition brachte weitere Verschlechterung, wobei die aktuellen Regierenden das HRT unter ihre uneingeschränkte Kontrolle brachten. Mitglieder des Rundfunkrates des HRT wurden vom Parlament mit einfacher Mehrheit gewählt, so dass die regierede Koalition alle Mitglieder des Rates bestimmt. Das Staatsfernsehen aus den alten kommunistischen Zeit wurde durch die symbolische Ernennung von Goran Radman zum Intendanten des HRT wiederhergestellt. Goran Radman war der letzte Direktor des Kroatischen Fernsehens vor dem Zusammenbruch des kommunistischen Regimes im Jahre 1990. Der einzige Unterschied lag darin, dass der ernannte Direktor dieses Mal nicht als Vertreter einer Ideologie sondern als Vertreter von Interessengruppen aufgetreten war.

Kroatien braucht ein neues Gesetz über das HRT, das die Betreibung des kroatischen Radio und Fernsehen in Form einer Anstalt des öffentlichen Rechts ermöglicht. Die Mitglieder des Rundfunkrates sollen als direkt gewählte Vertreter verschiedener Interessengruppen sein. Anderenfalls Kroatien bleibt das einzige Land in Europa mit staatlich kontrollierten öffentlichen Medien, die von den Bürger durch Erhebung der Fernsehgebühren finanziert werden.

By the end of 2009, this partnership expanded to include other esteemed national and international organizations. After a seven-year public and agency review, TMT received all required state and county permits. In May 2010, the TMT Final Environmental Impact Statement was approved after a two-year public review and was not challenged after its approval.

Maunakea, with its summit at 13,796 ft (4,205 m) is the tallest summit in Hawaii. It is known to be a prestigious, world-renowned astronomical site and also as a special place in the Hawaiian culture. The Ancient Hawaiians were astronomers by nature. They used the stars and other celestial objects to expertly navigate the Pacific Ocean to the Hawaiian Islands as well for many aspects of the culture such as fishing and agriculture. King Kalākaua was, in fact, an early and ardent supporter of astronomical observation in Hawaii.

Currently residing on Maunakea’s summit are telescopes such as the Keck Telescopes, Subaru, Gemini, and the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescopes. The University of Hawaii (UH) made an agreement in the Mauna Kea Reserve Master Plan that no more telescopes would be constructed on the pu’u and top of Maunakea. Therefore, the northern plateau in Area E was identified and agreed upon to be the next observatory location because of its lack of visual, archeological, cultural, and biological impact. Neither TMT nor any of the other telescopes are permanent fixtures; eventually they will all be removed. In the grand scheme of time, the residency of these telescopes on the mountain will be but a mere blink of the eye.

During the time TMT is located on Maunakea, the telescope will greatly benefit the local communities of Hawaii Island, the State of Hawaii, and the world with its anticipated scientific contribution. One of the many benefits for Hawaii that TMT brings is its substantial payment for lease rent. Eighty percent of the lease rent goes to the Office of Mauna Kea Management, while the remaining twenty percent goes to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. For the first three years after 2014, TMT will pay $300,000 per year. The lease rent payment increases at further milestones of the telescopeʻs construction and will eventually pay $1 million per year while in operation. TMT also launched The Hawaii Island New Knowledge (THINK) Fund in 2014 to contribute $1 million per year to be distributed amongst various Big Island STEM programs, schools, classes, and students.

This supportive petition has not been organized or initiated by the TMT Observatory Corporation. I have created this document so that my belief, which I share with others, will be heard. I am an 18 year-old, Native Hawaiian girl in high school with loving passion for astronomy and my culture.

Facebook has no option to report material regarding sexual violence and does not seem to include comments in this category as qualifying under 'hate speech'. Instances of rape are rising worldwide. Available data suggests that nearly one in four women worldwide may experience sexual violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime (WHO, 2002). It is estimated that 1 in 6 American women are raped and 500,000 rapes are committed annually in S.Africa, where 37% of men admit to raping a woman. Conviction rates remain despicably low; eg. in Scotland the rape conviction rate is at 3%.

This is not a joke and it is not acceptable for facebook to liken these comments to ‘pub jokes’ or refer to them as legitimate entertainment, as they did in a recent statement. Facebook has previously removed images of women breastfeeding and from this we can only assume that they consider breasts to be more offensive than rape.

Facebook has user Terms and Conditions which are clearly being breached-but this has triggered no consequences for the perpetrators.

Some Facts from the Center for American Progress on Progressive Talk radio and its endangered status:

* Our analysis in the spring of 2007 of the 257 news/talk stations owned by the top five commercial station owners reveals that 91 percent of the total weekday talk radio programming is conservative, and 9 percent is progressive.

* Each weekday, 2,570 hours and 15 minutes of conservative talk are broadcast on these stations compared to 254 hours of progressive talk—10 times as much conservative talk as progressive talk.

* A separate analysis of all of the news/talk stations in the top 10 radio markets reveals that 76 percent of the programming in these markets is conservative and 24 percent is progressive, although programming is more balanced in markets such as New York and Chicago.
