Re-Mix or Remaster Death Magnetic!

If you're a fan of another artist or band who have ruined their album in the same way, please sign this petition as well. Let's bring an end to the destruction of music!

http://www.gopetition.com/online/22419.html

----------------------------------------------------------------------
About Death Magnetic:

"...A Technical error in recording from the master....It will not sound like this on the album" - Benjamin on behalf of Mission Metallica after the release of poor quality versions of the first single, The Day That Never Comes.

Mission Metallica & Warner Brothers lied to the public to ensure that they didn't lose album pre-orders!

After the album was released, this same "technical error" became "An exciting sound that people are responding to" - Cliff Burnstein, Q-Prime, after the album release.

Death Magnetic is a fantastic effort from Metallica, however many of us are disappointed by the poor audio quality present on the album.

Send your cd back to HQ!

UPDATE - 05/10/2008

We know for sure now that the problems were introduced during mixing.

Lars has claimed that 13,000 people is an insignificant amount of people, so let's try and get to 20,000!

If you want a better version of Death Magnetic, Guitar Hero rips which are clean, livelier and more "smokin" can be acquired!

Please note that neither GoPetition or Gram Parsons InterNational choose any ads you may see here.

This year, 2023 marks 50 years since the death of Gram Parsons, an innovative genius in the fields of rock and country music. The undersigned believe that the Sweetheart of the Rodeo 50-year tribute shows, including a record-breaking celebration of the album by the leaders of The Byrds, alone substantiate the criteria for Veterans Era nomination (eligible for induction 40 years after first achieving national prominence) for Gram Parsons, who was largely responsible for the album's inception and ultimate recognition in the history of country music. Parsons' previous album with his International Submarine Band, Safe at Home, released the same year, is included in the Library of Congress representing country music. Of course there are numerous other criteria by which he can and should be judged, and pass with flying colors, including first bringing Emmylou Harris to national prominence, and his singular ability to merge country and rock idioms into the most personal evocations to be realized by such synthesis. Keith Richards wrote his entry for the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time (Rolling Stone). And perhaps especially in these divisive times, Gram's ability to bridge generations at a time that was arguably more divisive than today, actually seeking out venues into which a longhair would not think of entering, and winning over the crowd while at the same time introducing country music to young rock audiences. And then of course his overall influence on country music (including the current "rock" sound in the newer country acts as well as forms labeled variously as Americana and alt country)-- that influence now fully realized 50 years after the seminal works mentioned above. Thank you for your consideration.

And also see: https://graminternational.wordpress.com/2015/03/17/is-gram-parsons-eligible-for-induction-based-on-cma-criteria/
which may not be the now much shortened criteria for induction, but the thought process is the same. Recommended for Pioneer Class.

SEUNGRI COMEBACK PROJECT

Although it was announced in early if 2017 by CEO Yang that our Seungri of BIgbang will make a comeback with GD, Taeyang and Daesung; till todate there is nothing to show of his comeback. Our Seungri has informed fans in a fan meet that he has 4 songs ready but again no attempt was made to see through his comeback. In Dec of 2017, we were informed that our Seungri does not have a schedule of work with YG. He also will not be joining the other members for complusory military work in 2018 because the waiting list for military service is too long. Now is the time to show support for our Seungri.

This petition is an attempt to bring to the attention of CEO Yang and YGE that VIPS/VVIPS are serious in wanting to see our Seungri's comeback and world tour. This is also to show support for our Seungri of BigBang's career in music.
We hope to see the love of all VIPs/VVIPs towards our Seungri. Please sign the petition and show support. Thank you and hugs all VIPs/VVIPs.

Induct Keith Whitley into The Country Music Hall of Fame

Jackie Keith Whitley began his journey on the stage at the tender age of 4. By the age of 8 he was performing on the radio. By the time his early teens rolled around he was recording with major artists of the time and touring. He was sought out for his talent in both musical and vocal abilities. He graced our lives with his voice and songs his entire journey till he went on to the greatest stage of them all in 1989.

He made a giant mark on the music industry, mainly his love, Country Music. Many well known artist looked to him as one to follow in the foot steps of as they began their Country Music Journey. Many of them still walk their steps one at a time in the music industry and have made their own significant mark on music history, but their steps started in the desire to follow the ones that Keith Whitley had already imprinted firmly into the progressive roots of Country Music, keeping them entwined with the roots of Country Music's forefathers enabling them to grow into what Country Music is today and shining a promising light on new generations that are still to come into Country Music.

Keith Whitley was not just a singer that left Country Music too soon. He is a true Country artist whose music is still loved and being shared with those just now starting to find their love and passion for music. Like music, he will never die as long as he is remembered. It is time that he is remembered and held up in the place he has earned and deserves. His place in The Country Music Hall of Fame.

Save the National Centre for Excellence in Traditional Music

Although the Highland Council has now voted to withdraw the Centre's funding, it has also included the following statement in the minutes of its proceedings:

“The Council's aim is to secure its long term future, and to do so in the most financially efficient and effective way, given the severe financial pressure on the Council by exploring all possibilities and options.

“The Council propose to engage the Scottish Government, West Highland College and other interests in further discussions exploring how the Centre may play a role in supporting wider potential development in traditional music within the region.”

Pressure must now be brought to bear on the Council to make good on this statement.

The Highland Council has targeted the National Centre for Excellence in Traditional Music, based at Plockton High School, in its proposed cuts package. http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/2115087

If the cuts are voted through at the Highland Council meeting on February 10, the Centre could close as soon as July next year. Director Dougie Pincock was interviewed on the BBC this morning and said that while he expected the Centre to take its share of any cuts he 'hadn't anticipated it would be all of it.'

Plockton has been an integral part of Scottish Traditional Music for the past 10 years. It has started many of our best young musicians on the road to their career and provided training in traditional music and groupwork from some of Scotland's finest musicians. Our young folk could not have gained this level of training anywhere else.

Songwriter Petition to Congress: Pass the Music Modernization Act

Dear Members of the United States Congress:

Songwriters are egregiously underpaid because laws governing the music industry have not kept pace with technology. The Music Modernization Act of 2017 will change that. This bill is the most significant update to music copyright law in over a generation and represents an unprecedented agreement between the music and technology industries. We, as the songwriters most affected by 100-year-old policies that reduce our royalties, encourage Congress to pass this legislation as soon as possible.

The Music Modernization Act is a bipartisan effort that will greatly improve the way mechanical and performance royalties are calculated. Today, digital services like Spotify, Apple, Pandora, Amazon and Google often do not know who to pay and money is lost to lack of information and inefficiency. The Music Modernization Act will create an entity, funded by the digital music companies, that will properly pay mechanical royalties for interactive streaming. It also gives songwriters a better shot at getting higher royalty rates in the Copyright Royalty Board proceedings. Additionally, it reforms the system that determines performance royalty rates for ASCAP and BMI by allowing rate courts to review market evidence into the valuation of how songwriters are compensated as well as giving them improvements to the rate court process.

When passed, this bill will be the biggest achievement that music creators have seen in the Digital Age. Unfortunately, there are many hurdles to face before this bill becomes law, which is why we songwriters are coming together to make our voices – which are so often behind the music – heard.

This bill is supported by the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA), the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), the Songwriters of North America (SONA), the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI), the Church Music Publishers’ Association (CMPA), the Production Music Association (PMA), MusicAnswers, the Music Publishers Association (MPA), the Council of Music Creators (CMC), the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) and the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP). The bill is also supported by the Digital Media Association (DiMA) which represents Amazon, Apple, Pandora, Spotify and YouTube.

The next time you hear your favorite song, think of the struggling small business owner who wrote it, and remember that you can do something to help by supporting the Music Modernization Act.

Sincerely,

Songwriters
