Knocklyon Utd FC is a progressive community-based club that is committed to providing the best possible facilities for the use of our players, parents and the local community. Over thirty years ago we started with a single team, we now cater for nearly 600 players of all ages. Our mission to this day is to provide football for all ages, girls and boys regardless of ability. A team of 100 dedicated volunteers selflessly run the club to the highest standards.
The club is currently experiencing rapid growth due to the explosion of housing developments within the local area (in excess of 4000 approved homes either under construction or awaiting development) and needs to increase the facilities we already have to meet the growing demand. We are currently growing at a rate of 20% per annum which means that within 4 years we could potentially be meeting the sporting needs of 1000 girls and boys of all ages.
To lose the pitches at Ballycullen Park will have a devastating impact on Knocklyon Utd FC and the greater community at large. Currently every week 450 children between the ages of 7 years and 12 years of age use the pitches at Ballycullen. Every week hundreds of children from all over Dublin and the surrounding counties travel to Ballycullen Park to enjoy partaking in sport regardless of their ability. Removal of the pitches will result in the immediate lack of facilities for 450 of our youngest players and their opponents who travel to play them week in week out due to no available alternative site in the area.
Ballycullen Park is situated in the heart of the parish of Knocklyon, it can be safely accessed by a network of paths and pedestrian crossings from all directions. The recently constructed club house funded jointly by Knocklyon Utd and a Capital Sports Grant had ample safe off-street parking. Ballycullen Park is fully enclosed with only 2 points of access making it extremely safe for younger children.
We the people of Knocklyon Utd FC are totally opposed to any development at Ballycullen Park that removes, reduces or impacts negatively on this precious vibrant local amenity.

Το πάρκο Γεωργιάδη απειλείται με μερική ή ολική καταστροφή από την κατασκευή υπόγειου γκαράζ. Όπως αναφέρει η προμελέτη περιβαλλοντικών επιπτώσεων που έχει στα χέρια της η δημοτική αρχή, το 1/3 του πάρκου θα ξηλωθεί ώστε να ενταχθεί ο χώρος αυτός στο γενικό σχέδιο κατασκευής του σταθμού αυτοκινήτων της πλατείας Ελευθερίας. Τα τεχνικά έργα που θα γίνουν έχουν ως αποτέλεσμα την κοπή όλων των φυτών που βρίσκονται ανατολικά του κεντρικού διαδρόμου μέχρι το Ηρώο, αρκετά στη νησίδα πρασίνου νοτιοδυτικά αυτού και όλα τα φυτά του πρανούς βόρεια του πάρκου. Επίσης θα εκριζωθούν όλα τα δέντρα στην περιοχή επαφής με τα τείχη. Παρ’ όλ’ αυτά στην παραπάνω μελέτη σημειώνεται πως τα έργα για το γκαράζ δεν θα έχουν επιπτώσεις στον περιβάλλοντα χώρο.

Οι νομικές οδοί και οι μελέτες θυσιάζουν τους χώρους πρασίνου σε μια πόλη, αρκεί τα προτεινόμενα έργα να αποφέρουν κέρδος από λειτουργίες όπως το υπόγειο γκαράζ της πλατείας Ελευθερίας. Τα πάρκα και οι πλατείες είναι για όλους εμάς, που θέλουμε να είμαστε και να νιώθουμε ελεύθεροι σ’ αυτούς. Είμαστε ενάντια στη μετατροπή των δημόσιων χώρων σε εμπορικά εκμεταλλεύσιμα οικόπεδα. Στο πάρκο Γεωργιάδη θα ξεφορτώσουν οι εργολάβοι μπετόν και πρόχειρες κατασκευές εκεί που οι κατόψεις των σχεδίων δείχνουν στέγαστρα, αναψυκτήρια, παιδικές χαρές και με λίμνες με κλουβιά ωδικών πτηνών.

Η ασφάλεια που θα μας παρέχει ο Δήμος μέσα στο νέο, περιφραγμένο και ελεγχόμενο πάρκο, συνιστά μια ψευδή πραγματικότητα στην οποία ασφυκτιούμε. Η υποτιθέμενη ανάπλαση του πάρκου, δεν αποτελεί απάντηση στη μιζέρια στην οποία έχει αφεθεί.Επιθυμία μας είναι να υπερασπιστούμε τους ελεύθερους δημόσιους χώρους χωρίς συμβιβασμούς.

Stop cemetary memorial items being removed and binned

I was visiting a loved ones memorial garden/grave only to find a sign had been put on their tree telling me to remove all their things or they'd be binning everything themselves.

I feel very strongly about these things being removed as it's were I'm close to my loved one. It's hard enough for people to grieve without having to deal with this nonsense. Memorial items do no harm to anyone whatsoever so why remove them.

Regulate the Rental Market in Malta

In the last 3 years in Malta the rent I have paid has increased 50% and that includes having to downsize to a 1 bedroom flat.

My rent now takes 49% of my income.

This has become unsustainable unless my salary increases substantially.

Stop the Casino at the Source Mall in Westbury

As of December 30, 2014, the Nassau County Off Track Betting Corporation has decided that it will place a 1000 terminal Video Lottery Terminal Casino in the vacant Fortunoff Store in the Source Mall.

Residents of the surrounding residential areas are opposed to such a Casino as the area will be burdened with additional traffic that existing roadways cannot handle, increased crime due to an increase in the overall area population on a daily basis and the fact that the facility will be open 20 hours per day.

The site is within 600 feet of a senior citizen residential area as well as near over 300 private family homes, in addition to schools within a short radius.

Save Saki Bar's License

In February 2010, Saki Bar based in Rusholme, Manchester, had its licence revoked on the grounds of noise and crime and disorder complaints by local residents and authorities. It has an appeal against this decision on September 27th 2010.

Saki Bar will be appealing on the grounds that they have done everything asked of them to eradicate the noise complaints. Since this decision and prior to it, they have worked closely with Manchester city council and the local police to make sure the bar is operating in a safe and responsible manner.

The police visit the bar at least every weekend, and have at each point been satisfied that the owners and managers are doing everything possible to resolve this situation.

The soundsystem and noise levels are regularly tested. There are notices across the bar reminding people to leave quietly at the end of the night. Any clubnights or bands that do not comply with this, are not allowed to use the venue again.

In the 3 years that Saki Bar has existed, it has become a very important bar for Manchester's music scene. It is commonly used by many of the city's most responsible and passionate music fans. People use the bar because it is very supportive of local music. It has also commonly been used by charity events such as Oxjam.

The effect of losing Saki Bar as a venue would be very damaging to Manchester's bands and DIY music promoters. They have done everything within their means to address the noise issues and continue their good work. Therefore, we invite anybody that supports this notion and values Saki Bar as a safe and responsible venue to socialise, to sign the petition.

To prevent the demolition of the property at 1436 W. Berwyn, Chicago IL
To preserve the historic building at this property. The adjacent property at 1430 W. Berwyn is the "sister" historic building constructed by the same architect and would impact the beauty of the neighborhood. The density population would impact the neighborhood, adding a six flat would impact the green space at 1436 W. Berwyn.

Save The Little Albion, Broadstairs

The Little Albion, a lovely family friendly pub in Broadstairs, Kent is to have its license reviewed by Thanet District Council on 10th August 2017 due to applications and complaints by a few local residents on the grounds of prevention of public nuisance.

The new owner has done a fantastic job of turning the venue around in the past year, however a few residents are asking for this lovely pub to be closed which will mean a loss of jobs and a facility which is enjoyed by many in the local community. The loss of this pub to the majority of locals would be devastating, the entertainment has been fantastic in bringing in both regulars and further afield patrons.

The owner has complied with everything asked of them and is hoping that this will be enough.

Too many pubs are closing, therefore we need to try and preserve this local pub.
We need to show Thanet District Council the strength of feeling towards this application and we urge you to sign our petition.

Support the Laurel Rooftop

The Laurel Rooftop has become a huge part of the Ascot Vale community over the past 5 years since it opened, hosting talented local musicians and providing a safe and friendly environment for the neighborhood to enjoy. The hotel has been around for over 150 years.

Unfortunately, effective immediately, the Mooney Valley City Council have enforced harsh restrictions on the Laurel Rooftop. The new curfew means closing the rooftop at 10pm daily including weekends and bans any amplified music. This includes even background music on our own sound system. So you can imagine the lack of atmosphere as a result of this and not even being able to finish watching the Friday night footy match.

Please help us get back our late night hours and be able to have live acoustic music and DJ’s on preferred nights. Please sign your name as support. We have a VCAT Hearing on 10th July in which we hope to be able to alter these hours and the amplified music restrictions.

A petition against fireworks legalised at Klipfontein dam, Witbank.

Residents and animal owners live next to the area.

Witbank can't guarantee proper law enforcement. Drinking in public during these festivities can create problems. Witbank Municipality is also incapable of doing a proper clean up afterwards, as they can't even keep the town clean under normal circumstances.

The above is in direct violation of people's and animals' health and safety.
