As declared by the socialist party itself in an official document circulated in the Executive Federal Commission, in May 19/2006, it was the Spanish Socialist Government through the Spanish Revenue Agency who decided to shut down two companies, Afinsa and Forum Filatélico on the 9th of may 2006, while denouncing to the Spanish Anticorruption Prosecution Office in July 2005 that both of them had been actively engaged in running fraudulent Ponzi scheme practices.

Forty three months have passed since that day and Mr. Zapatero’s Government have not done one single effort to protect the rights and fortunes of 460.000 investors and citizens of Spain and Portugal, nor has he ever accepted to meet with us to find a proper solution to the excruciating problem he and his Government has placed upon our lives, and what is much worse, no legal evidence of such terrible crimes have been found so far.

A growing concern among all 460.000 victims is that Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and his administration is invading and controlling the judiciary system making all efforts to prevent justice for us to take place.

Save more than 500 cats in Barcelona (Spain)

More than 500 cats live on land where the construction of the high speed train tracks between Madrid and Barcelona will soon begin. They live there because they have been abandoned by their owners. The cats suffer from cold, hunger and mistreatment, and the City Council of Barcelona hasn't done anything to resolve this problem. Many cats have been killed in the course of earlier public projects in Barcelona, and we want to avoid another massacre. However, the City council of Barcelona has ignored our petition and the local media sarcastically claim that the cats live happily along this route and that are other, more important things for the local council to discuss.

This is an URGENT SOS, because the construction works of the Sagrera station and the high speed train routes will begin before May 2007 and many people prefer the city council of Barcelona not to spend money on cats under the influence of local journalists, who deride our attempts as trivial. If we can't get concrete promise to create controlled cat colonies and to do TN"R" (trap-neuter-"return to safe places") soon, most of the cats will be killed by the construction works or by the insensible people who poison these poor animals.

We still have no news from the Council, and worst of all theworks begin within 30 dyas. If we have no concrete assurances, we will have what we do not want to accept: DEAD CATS, MUTILATIONS, CATS BURIED ALIVE, etc.

Carmen Ferrer and her Ibiza government colleagues have decided not to pay Ryanair 365.000 euros per year as a subsidy towards winter flights saying that it did not represent good value for money as it "did not result in an increase in the number of establishments open". Flights are the lifeline of Ibiza and we think that the Ibiza Government has made the wrong decision.

Stop Murdering Bulls in Spain

Each year, thousands of bulls are barbarically slaughtered in bullrings around the world. From the moment they enter the ring, the bulls don’t stand a chance. They may be weakened by beatings, have their horns shaved to keep them off balance, or have petroleum jelly rubbed into their eyes to impair their vision.

In a typical Spanish bullfight, the bull enters the arena and is approached by picadors—men on horses who drive lances into the bull’s back and neck muscles. This attack impairs the bull’s ability to lift his head and defend himself. They twist and gouge the lances to ensure significant blood loss.

Then banderilleros enter on foot, distract the bull, and dart around him while plunging banderillas—brightly colored sticks with harpoon points on their ends—into his back. When the bull has become weakened from blood loss, the banderilleros run the bull in circles until he becomes dizzy and stops chasing them.

Finally, the matador appears and, after provoking a few exhausted charges from the dying animal, tries to kill the bull with his sword. If he misses, succeeding only in further mutilating the animal, an executioner is called in to stab the exhausted and submissive bull to death. The dagger is supposed to cut the animal’s spinal cord, but even this stroke can be blundered, leaving the bull conscious but paralyzed as he is chained by his horns and dragged out of the arena.

If the crowd is happy with the matador, the bull’s ears and tail are cut off and presented as trophies. A few minutes later, another bull enters the arena and the sadistic cycle starts again.

Stop Lighting Bulls on Fire

Every year in November, a bizarre and nightmarish festival known as "Toro Jubilo" is held in Soria, Spain.

During this cruel event, residents affix balls of flammable tar (or pitch) to the horns of terrified, restrained bulls. The balls of tar are then set on fire, and the panicked animals—either tied to stakes in public squares or released to run madly through the streets—are left to burn in agony.

For hours, the tar burns like a bonfire on the bulls' heads, scorching their faces and bodies. Many bulls reportedly crash into walls in blind terror. Their carcasses are later divided among the participants for consumption—residents apparently believe that consuming the flesh of the tortured animals provides them with fertility and invincibility. Please help ban this.

POR LA UNIVERSALIZACIÓN DE LA ALIMENTACIÓN ECOLÓGICA EN LOS COMEDORES ESCOLARES

Estimamos que es una obligación moral ineludible garantizar lo mejor para los niños en un ámbito clave como es el de la alimentación. Que “con las cosas de comer no se juega” debe ser especialmente cierto cuando se habla de la infancia. Dar a los niños una alimentación sana y equilibrada, con las mayores garantías sanitarias, es una obligación inexcusable a la que los poderes públicos han de contribuir. Y entendemos que la alimentación ecológica, sometida a los más escrupulosos controles para evitar que contengan elementos tales como residuos de pesticidas, u otras cosas como materias primas procedentes de manipulación genética, es la que mejor cumple ésos requisitos.

Consideramos así mismo que a la par que de este modo se vela por una alimentación con más garantías para los más pequeños, se promueve el sector de la alimentación ecológica que tantos beneficios reporta no solo a la salud de los niños sino de todos y de la Naturaleza.
