Please do not cancel The Secret Circle!

We, the fans of The Secret Circle, are dismayed at The CW Network’s decision to cancel the series after only 22 episodes.

Ending the season with an average of 0.8 in 18-49demo and 2.06 million viewers, TSC remained The CW’s third highest rated show, and second highest scripted show. Despite having received several 0.5 during its final weeks, the show began to bring back its audience, with finale ratings of 0.6in the demo and 1.23 million viewers.

In addition, we have seen the DVR numbers for the May 3rd episode. The show received a 0.4 demo increase (total 0.9) after DVR +7 ratings were added. This was the highest demo increase for any network television show the week of April 30th. Though DVR ratings do not support advertisers the way live viewing and same day DVR views do, the +7 ratings prove that fans of the show were not “lost,” but watching in a way that wasn’t beneficial to higher ad rates.

We believe the +7 ratings, coupled with the show’s season average, help justify the argument that a nightswitch, as opposed to a cancellation, would have been a better choice for the show and network.

In addition to the numbers, many fans were not aware that TSC was in danger of being cancelled or of how the ratings system(particularly DVR views) works. We believe if more fans were aware that TSCwas on the chopping block, they would have come out in support of the show and the network would have seen a demo increase before the finale.

We know that TSC has a strong fan following, in addition to its fresh-faced/talented cast and serious potential in terms of a season 2 story line. This is why we believe TSC deserves a spot on network or cable television.

UPDATE, June 19, 2015

Hey all. I should have updated you all a while back, however I did not, reason being I was just too lazy to log on.

Anyway. Season 3 of R+V Will NOT be happening. There is no point in signing this petition any more ... That's that :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rosario + Vampire deserves a third season. The last episode of season 2 did say to be continued, and there are still many characters that have not yet been introduced and still many major events that have not yet happened.

This anime should continue.

New Home 4 Dresden!

The Dresden Files TV series (TDF) is based on the best-selling book series written by Jim Butcher.

The series began on the Sci-Fi Channel on January 21, 2007 with the episode Birds of a Feather and ran for a total of 12 episodes, ending with Second City on April 15. Despite a very short season & NO advertising or promotion by Sci-Fi Channel, the show did amazingly well - earning viewer ratings equal to, & some even better than, the Sci-Fi Channel's highly publicized ‘flagship’ show Battlestar Galactica.

To ensure that the Sci-Fi Channel & its owners NBC/Universal understood how important the show was to fans of the scifi genre’, Dresden Files fans began writing letters to them and praising the show.

On July 4, 2007, a statement was released in an Edmonton, Canada newspaper that Lionsgate – who produces TDF – were moving one of their series to Edmonton for production. One of the series listed that could possibly move was the Dresden Files! This statement gave hope to the fans, who persisted in the letter-writing campaign & began contacting the media.

On July 14, an e-mail was received by several fans from Patrick Lee, editor of Sci Fi Wire – the news & info site on SciFi.com – stating that an announcement was expected ‘this week’. The week came & went with absolutely NO response from either the Sci-Fi Channel or its parent company NBC/Universal.

On August 3, 2007, a statement was posted on Sci Fi Wire concerning Paul Blackthorne – lead actor of the Dresden Files – having accepted a recurring role on the new show Big Shots. The last sentence again stated that the status of the series had not been decided. Later that same day, the last sentence was altered to say that the Dresden Files would not be back for Season 2.

We fans believe that not only is the Dresden Files the BEST TV series that has been released in 2007, it is also the most intelligent, witty, suspenseful, engaging, and endearing show that has been released on ANY channel or network in YEARS!

For this reason, we are petitioning Lionsgate as producers of the show, and any and ALL television channels to pick up the Dresden Files - cast & crew – for Season 2!!

Bring back 'Jeux Sans Frontieres'!

****WOW! Almost 15,000 signatures!! Thanks everybody and keep it up!!*****

EBU, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has cancelled the much-awaited return of Jeux Sans Frontières - the brilliant game show that for 35 years brought together young people from all over Europe.

We are calling on all European citizens to help lobby EBU for the return of JSF.

Please sign this petition, which will be delivered to EBU's Director of Television and to national broadcasters.

Jeux Sans Frontières was a perfect example of both popular and quality programming, which is becoming rarer in an era of cultural dumbing down, reality TV and cheap song contests.

JSF was one of the most popular programmes across the continent - one of a very few examples of truly contemporary European culture, and a great way to build a common identity, exchange experiences and learn about the places and cultures of Europe. In fact, from 1965 to 1999, generation after generation of Europeans grew up with 'the Games'.

JSF was a great chance for European youths to take part in creative, imaginative and stimulating games, while showcasing beautiful villages, towns and cities from participating countries.

In short, JSF meets all three criteria of good Public Service Broadcasting: it informs, educates and entertains.

After a lot of pressure from fans across Europe, broadcasters decided to launch a new series of JSF in 2007; only to cancel it at the last moment due to "financial difficulties". It's true that JSF is an expensive programme to produce. Still, broadcasters waste millions of euros every year on programmes of much lesser quality and indeed popularity.

Let's show EBU and its members, i.e. the national public service broadcasters (such as BBC, TF1, RAI, ERT) - which by the way are funded by us - that European audiences want Jeux Sans Frontières back.

Please sign this petition.

****WOW! Almost 15,000 signatures!! Thanks everybody and keep it up!!*****

Caprica for season 2!

The fact is that Syfy came up with the conclusion not to renew Caprica for a second season. This decision has caused the fans of the show to act in rebellion against the channel.

We need the signatures to help Caprica be saved by Netflix, so that the beloved BSG prequel can really flourish as one of the few series that are intriguing, thought-provoking and worth investing in.

Please share this petition so that it can expand its message to people who don't know about it yet.
