Children and adults deserve to be given an accurate view of history in all schools, together with the accomplishments and contributions of the African and African Diasporian, Asian people and European people. What is happening in schools today is 'educational apparthied' being endorsed by the government due to centuries of brainwashing. I have joined a group called African Carribean Education forum, we have had an open day and tell all the children to get their school envolved in black history.
We are a group of mums who strongly believe it needs to be done. the first event had possitive feedback from those that attended. We have the support of two acheivement officers from the education department and other organisations giving support and advertising.

I think that it is important that children learn about the history and background of all races. As there are a growing number of black and asian children in schools, I feel that the type of history taught in schools should reflect this. As a primary school teacher, I have seen how beneficial it is for children to learn about something that they can relate to. I think it is absolutely essential that children are taught about their history in schools. However the best delivery of this would be from black teachers.
