I am a native of Mamaroneck and remember going over the causeway that led from Taylor Lane to BION Island, also remember the time when the causeway was flooded. The mansion was a marvel with the ballroom's ceiling done in gold relief of cherubs and seraphims. There were still some artifacts there at that time, early 1950's. I remember the huge wine barrel. What a pity that the house had to come down.
