BUT !!!!!! ..... I am simply NOT A FAN at all of the geotextile sand bagging!!!
They are super expensive to install, require on going maintenance, are extremely ugly and do not fit into our natural environment in anyway whatsoever.
I would MUCH prefer the quarry rocks - in every respect.
Do it once, do it right. we're about to band the shopping bags - lets ban the geotextile sand bag at the same time!

However, the geotextile groyne has not stopped the tidal stream from cutting around the eastern end and erodingout more of the beach. I have started this petition to try and get enough support to show the Noosa Council that it is an amenity that is important to a lot of people. It is a popular spot not just with dog owners, but also boating people. It is possible to restore this beach permanently using submerged groynes to prevent the main tidal stream from eroding the beach, but allow plenty of water for boating and swimming.
