Planning permission must be more stringent than at present. Proposed layouts must consider parking, accessibility and increased traffic. Orchard Rise is a classic example of where the Council allowed Barratts to create traffic congestion on single track Hospital Lane. Private house builders must be monitored more with existing sites as they do not complete the site for years meaning that the Council will not adopt.

Why not finish what you started 25+yrs ago and complete promises to build houses on brown belt first in Scotswood and Elswick, Walker and the Great Park where Newcastle's only built 800 vs targeted 6,000. We chose to live in this green and pleasant part of Newcastle astride the countyside with real villages not urban sprawl.
