More training and education on handguns should be made available and given to the public as part of receiving the handgun. More mental health screening should also be made available and taken more seriously. Taking our gun rights away could endanger more people and cause more issues. We as Americans have the right to bear arms and should be allowed to have them. Taking these rights away from the people appears to be a way of having complete control. The majority of people that have firearms are very responsible and should not lose their rights just because someone sold a gun to a loose cannon and did not do the proper check. They obviously were instable when they got the firearm in the first place and if criminals want a firearm they will find a way to get it. I agree, more control needs to be put in place, but not by taking the people's rights away in the process.
