The board of doctors used the results of a test that should not have been ordered in her condition to decide on a cancer treatment plan. Because of this, radiation treatment, which was what she went there for, which was what she basically begged for (she was a physician herself), was not provided and the choice was made to instead give her chemotherapy. Her cancer ended up spreading beyond control and she passed away. The Wrongful Death Act discriminates against the deceased and against those of us who are left behind with crumbled lives. This act cannot guarantee quality of care for those over the age of 25 that are not married or childless, because physicians and hospitals know that they will be protected from everything that they do wrong. For all we know, these unqualified doctors keep practicing medicine, with a legal license to keep 'killing' people. How can a state guarantee quality medical care with a law that basically says that those that do not meet the requirements to seek justice after medical malpractice are worthless?

He died of a cardiac arrest which could have been prevented, and the damaged minimized if they had supervised him and caught it in time. Attorneys are not taking the case against the hospital or doctors involved because of his age. This is unfair, and encourages worse treatment of seniors.

She should have gone straight ICU but she didn't have insurance either. Finally they moved her to the cardiac floor where the doctor there recognized her immediate danger and sent her to the ICU. But it was too little to late. The infection had spread to her heart.

In the ICU with heart infections that 80 yr old people survive, was given morphine after both my parents had left for the night, she had an immediate reaction then died. I worked in medical, I know what morphine is used for with heart issues! Most do. They took my best friend, a piece of my heart, my sister. She was worth more than this stupid law allows. No, money will not bring her back but its ridiculous that we can do nothing! If this law was not in place, I'm positive a different medical decision would have been made!
