NHS Grampian 'management' need to explain why they chose to act in this heavy handed manner (not a great deal of professional management being exhibited in this case it would seem). I'm sure the parents are very grateful she didn't 'turn a blind eye'. What if the boy had been run down by a car, ah well at least procedures wouldn't have been broken.......The managers involved in this extremely shabby decision need to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror & ask themselves if they are fit to hold the positions they are appointed to.

It's lack of flexibility short sightedness and not being flexible enough to see that what Nicola was actually doing was putting the welfare and safety of the little boy first before everything else which is absolutely the right thing to do 100% I would have done the very same thing as I'm sure almost everyone would have done
Where were the parents of the little boy if anyone should get a rap on the knuckles it should be them for negligence.

What else could a professional caring woman such as Nicola have done? In her heart of hearts - Nicola knew she was doing the right thing - I'm sure she wouldn't have abandoned this child alone on the street.

After finding Nicola's note explaining what had now happened to this child - the child's Father was gratefull for Nicola's actions. Lets face it he was so wrong to have left his child alone like that - but so very lucky it was Nicola who picked the child up to care for him & not a Peadophile.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council's behaviour is 'Political Correctness' gone crazy. Would they have preferred her to leave such a vulnerable youngster to the dangers that could so easily have befallen it? Are you using this incident to dismiss Nicola for something else or are you using her as a scapegoat for another reason?

Do the right thing & publicly apologize to Nicola, reinstate her & think yourselves lucky you have such a kind & brave member of staff on board.

She took the child to safety and avoided a tragic end to the child's life - either by abduction by someone who would've harmed the child or getting run over on the road.
