Above many he deserves this award. His support for the dignity and freedom of Africans the world over was without question. It has had a profound effect on my own life and work. Whatever others wish to say about Burnham, none can deny his unmatched commitment to the South African struggle against aparthied. He was a true fighter for that cause and deserves that award. Internal dynamics should not be made to alter the historical facts. Let the facts stand on their own and better judgement will dictate that Burnham be properly recognized and awarded appropriately for his contributions.
