This is their home and moving them will cause disruption to their lives, risk impacting upon their emotional and physical wellbeing. Allow them the opportunity to live out the rest of their lives where they have come to regard as home. Surely it is the least they deserve.
I am concerned as to the alternatives, not only due to the limited choice, but also the standard of care provided. CSSIW reports do not paint a favourable picture, so I would be concerned if individuals were forced out into one of these alternative homes given the requirements for improvements that are in place. Keep Awelon & Dolwen open for the sake of our older generation!

Its location is excellent being near Rhuthun town centre. This makes it so easy for friends and relatives of residents to visit and make their stay there homely whilst knowing they are safe, cared for and not isolated as many might be if they had to live on their own. The local authority should be looking to Awelon as the exemplar not as a possibility for closure!

The care for the residents is second to none and the personal touch where care comes first will not be found anywhere else. These residents need 24 hour care, how will this be achieved if Awelon closes? How can there needs be met in any other type of home? Suffice to say as usual it is always about money at the end of the day. The staff know the residents, their needs and quirks and work with that, so much so that the residents are happy in the home. The food is of high standard and locally sourced as much as possible and freshly cooked daily. It will be a very sad day, something good and positive for the elderly residents, who have put their lives into working for a living and paying their taxes etc, will be lost forever. What a great shame and just when more homes are needed like this as we all live longer than before. Surely if would be cost effective to keep more homes like this open, how many people would be needed and at what cost in relation to staffing and goods and services if people reach a point where they need 24 hour help in their homes? Unfortunately, I fear the writing is already on the wall.
