The purpose of this reservoir should be to attract tourism to our area, not force residents to go elsewhere. The closing of businesses in this area has taken away our jobs. Do not take away our entertainment. Entertainment too many others and us is the Martinsville Reservoir.

The area needs to start evolving, which includes bringing in new people with new ideas or it will eventually be left behind and go vacant. One way to do that is to maintain and make aware to people the small number of minor attractions there are in the area besides just Martinsville Speedway.

I think the city should do more to attract an interest in going there, even to create a revenue. There used to be motorcross trails & shooting ranges. If the city would reopen these attractions and even charge a small fee to allow atv's with a signed agreement that the city is not responsible for accidents etc. I think residents would enjoy it and non-residents would come as well with a higher charge.

I feel that the Reservoir should not be closed down. I live in South Carolina and everytime we come to Martinsville, that is our #1 stop. It is a relaxing enviorment after a long drive. Our children go their and so does our childrens children. We have made the reservoir as a family tradition and our grand children loves it when we come to Martinsville just to take them to the reservoir. Please do not take it from the children.
