I take the buses daily, and have increasingly feared for my own safety even during sensible hours. Young people get on+off buses for free, and treat it like joyrides abusing others. Drivers can't do anything as they fear for their own safety. The kids simply hop off when confronted+find another bus to abuse.

Free travel for young people on buses should be abolished.

As a paying customer, I am absolutely disgusted when I cannot get on a bus because of under-17s travelling 1 stop "because they can", or having youths, who have NOT paid for their seat, prevent ME from having one. In addition, these youths regularly intimidate the other passengers which would not happen if free travel was revoked. It's a shame for the minority who know how to behave!

My boyfriend is a bus driver, and has so much trouble with big gangs of children up to no good. He constantly gets verbal abuse, and on many occassions has been threatened with attack or even to be killed. This is pathetic! These kids are abusing the system and they deserve to lose the privelege of this free travel. Take it away from them for London!
