While it was heartwrenching during the time we thought she had it we were lucky that it was "caught" early by nbs and she had a good chance as we could intervene with diet and emergency protocol. As a parent who has lived it but then not had to continue living it I believe strongly every child should be given the chance to have enhanced newborn screening for all tests available. You can SAVE a childs life!
