One thing I never said when on the peninsula is "I wish we would have more jet noise in this peaceful place".

To me these war games are utter unneeded insanity and obviously indicative of an out of control military industrial complex.

Please cease and desist with these "games" you play with our health and wildlife.

Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-WA 6) will be holding 6 public town hall meeting throughout his district over the next couple of weeks. This is a great time to thank Rep. Kilmer for his support of the environment and Olympic National Park, but also to ask him for his continued support of and reintroduction of the Wild Olympics Wilderness and Wild & Scenic Rivers Act. Furthermore, you can express your concern regarding increased jet traffic over the peninsula in relation to the Navy’s planned Electronic Warfare Range training area. You could also congratulate him on his recent appointment of the House Appropriations Committee, which helps decide how to spend about 30 percent, or $1.1 trillion, of the federal budget that is not earmarked for Medicare, Social Security, food stamps and other mandatory programs.

The areas that will be affected are rich in wildlife and are relatively healthy.
The economy depends mostly on tourism.
The main population centers, other than Forks, are Native American reservations.
The impact of EMF and jet noise will be devastating to the people and the environment.
Any person or agency who denies this (ie the Forest Service) is self serving and unethical, cherry picking information and bullying to get their way.
This seems to be the new American way and deserves a strong response in opposition.
What tactics do we, who love the earth, have left? Scary to think of some of then but it seems that breaking the so-called law is becoming increasingly necessary.
I say, watch out. You won't get away with this unscathed if my prayers are answered.

The US Forest Service, which should have the welfare of the forest and the will of the public as its priority, is ignoring violations of the NEPA in what seems to be a headlong rush to hand over to the Navy whatever it wants. The Navy has plenty of other places to hold its war games/training, & not that far away, as the jet fighter flies. This is one of the most environmentally sensitive areas in the USA. There are endangered species in the area and they will definitely be adversely affected. The Forests of the Olympic Peninsula are beloved by many, a State and National Treasure as well as a World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve. Local economies depend on preserving this pristine wilderness to attract tourism. Postpone the public comment deadline at least till January 2015, unless USFS is ready to go ahead and deny the permit now.
