Life is already a struggle for me now what will happen then ? because I am not on Austudy I am penalised for that not being eligible for payments that help pay for my Uni book like the $1000 payment that goes on your hex that they pay at the end when they start to earn but we have to pay our hex just the same but cannot get the loan for books ? how is this fair or possible? more to the point if there were services for parents when at home with young children to help them study by the time their kids went to school they could have already been qualified I wanted to do this but had no option of it, instead those services are only available for courses for people on the doll not the pension payment. its frustrating and unfair.

Single parents care for a child/children, so why is a career payment more? Imagine the outrage if the aged or disability pensions were lowered & why are those benefit recipients in receipt of higher benefits? There is a lack of available part time work to fit around carer requirements. What wok is available if very low paid, hence cutting payments after only $32 income is grossly unfair. Newstartbwas designed for SINGLE unemployed persons & is so low I imagine it would be unbearable to live on. Again, single parents have more costs than. Sinle unemployed person (chill care, travel to/from work etc). Various commissions & the United Nations indicate its (potentially) discriminatory for various reasons. I think single parents affected should mount a class action against the government!

The worst of all is food, tutoring, sports and recreation, all the healthy and learning things for my children are now gone.
my children get no support from their father. Also due to shared care with child support being introduced makes me the higher income earner. Im a parent who has worked since my youngest was 4. Who is the sole provider for my childrens education, sports and the whole lot that is needed to raise children.
This is not going to stop the people pushing out babies to stay on the parenting pension. The people not working that have now gone to newstart, are just joining all the other unemployed bums that are not interested in working.
Instead it affects people like me...I am a worker, have a household to maintain, most of all I am a parent. I juggle all these things on my own, there is no other parent to help.
For once in my life i cannot hold my head high, as no matter what I do, the parliament are doing something that makes us go two steps back. This is a stab in the back from parliament, one that I no longer have faith in. How can you be proud to be Australian, when your own government doesn't give a shit

Food shelter clothing and education. The long and the short of it its the children who will suffer at the end of the day if more is taken from them. They are already a parent short do they need to go without food n shelter and the other parent too. Kids need love not long extended hours in vacation care . Eight years old is too young an age. Too much pressure on both children and parent. Mark my words there will be more poverty ,more parents cracking under pressure ,children handed to docs even. Keep the funding just introduce volunteering hours or something so they can contribute to society but be there for their kids to. Volunteering hours are flexible and manageable. Children WILL be homeless because of this decision. Have a heart plse MrAbbott the children are our future they deserve A FAIR GO.

On top of the extra pressure most single parent families face we now have kids growing up in Australia without the support they require from there guardian as the government now requires a huge commitment from these parents who now face a depressing hardship with hardly any support available to be there and/or listen while things have become so much tougher. If your reading this and can't come to support the parents/guardians please support the kids as they don't have a voice but they should have rights. The right to nutrition, the right to a warm home and bed to rest, a right to an education, a right to be involved in school and sporting events, a right to develop and grow, a right to have parental support when required, a right to grow up feeling loved and nurtured. A right to know there country believes in supporting the little guy and still stands by the belief of "giving a shirt off ones back to help another in need"

I lived for years in two bedroom units sleeping on the couch so the kids have a room each and finally after years of proving to the real estate I can handle a higher rent property I get a incredible 3 bd home with a yard and room to move and an actual bed in a bedroom for myself. My life was transformed now I was sleeping properly and back pain disappeared and u signed a year lease contract, life was great, me and kids were doing things and finally was able to put my daughter in piano classes, I was on top of all my bills , in credit actually, then... We get told in a cpl months we are having our pay cut, with total disregard to contracts I committed to based on my pay at the time. I had to move out and fight courts to get my bond back. I then bought a caravan with the last of what money we had and the day we moved into the park Gold Coast had cyclonic weather and rained for a month and my van was damaged and had to throw out nearly everything we owned from water damage and moved back into a 2 bed unit. 2 months later I am back in dumpy caravan because I got a further $240 ft taken as my son turned 17, over $400 gone
