If TFW program will be canceled, lot of people will loose job as well as it will effect canadian economy. Specially in Alberta and small towns in Saskatchewan, we have really shortage of labor. without manpower it will be hard to run restaurant and service will be bad and lots of restaurant will be closed or bankrupt. That will effect canadian labour and canadian economy as well. we all know that lots of canadians also abuse EI program as well. They do not wan to work and get unemployment insurance. If they are not getting any government support, they have to work for survival. Government has to restructure this program rather than TFW.
By this way we can get local canadian for work and we will not need and TFW program.
This revoke is only for restaurants why not for other industries?
If one person is abusing that does not mean that rest all are doing same thing or they will be treated same like abuser.
To run Alberta's economy well we need manpower or else it will be problem for Alberta's growth.

She works harder than ANY "Canadian" I have EVER hired in four years of operation and I know I can count on her day or night any day of the week to show up, work hard and never complain. She is a model employee for the rest of the staff, and I have promoted her to store manager without a single second thought. We hire Canadian staff too fill the rest of the positions available and I have one single employee that has stated with us for more than one year. Everyone else quits within the first 3-6 months to work elsewhere. The foreign worker program is a godsend and, used properly, is an invaluable tool for small business owners in this marketplace.

We were VERY grateful for the assistance we received from the federal government in their help to arrange a caregiver for us. On what basis does the government suspend the program when it's really a requirement for many businesses - the reason the programs was started on the first place. If for some reason the TFWP is cancelled my business will suffer a lot, I really hope this does not happen.
I also worry for my foreign workers. They support their families back home and if the program is cancelled they will be without any income, this is not fair.
It is not fair that for few people that abuse the system we all have to be punish. Audit all businesses and punish the ones that do not comply, but do not punish the ones that are honest and follow the rules.

The majority of these foreign workers work twice as hard than any refuge from Sudan or Kenya. The foreign workers pay to get here and are prepared to work all hours and more. The refuges brought from other countries GET PAID to come here essentially; they only have to work for three months then get paid to go to school and get paid a gross amount for every child they have and get easy government housing. They also take advantage of the system by getting divorced on paper to get even more money. I would rather give every foreign worker permanent residence and have a contribution to our economy than have one more refuge using my taxes so they don't have to work and/or take advantage of our social systems.

The program might have some problems and loopholes but shutting it down is not the solution. There are other solutions to resolve this issues and we can only find it out thru dialogue andopen forum. To my hardworking filipino friends do not despair if really they are gonna deport you once your contract expires then start investing your money, talent and skills back home for where really it is needed. If Canada does not want us anymore i tell you we are much better off back home and together we can contribute something to our home country and make it a better place for all of us.
