It was dirty dogs looked ill , it was frezzing cold some had no brackets .no food or water ..
The people were rude and really did not want us there.the shop was clean etc but we're the dogs were it was so dirty dogs were dirty. Small cadge area were they keep them. No room for them. Heard that when u get a dog from there they need vets for jabs and health checks due to the fact there jabs were out of date and the animals were so sick. That's why I did not get one from there...

Better management and an owner who genuinely cares for the dogs welfare is what is needed, the girls who work there do a good job and will do even better under a more caring dog-minded management.

Plus the amount of dogs coming out of there sick with kennel cough etc is unbelievable!

I got a rescue dog from forest lodge kennels in Northampton within 2 days the dog became ill with parvo the vets did all they could but unfortunatly he died after 3 days in the vets , he was only 15 month's, then one of my own dogs which was vaccinated also got parvo and passed away within a few days. I notified the council who really was'nt bothered, i also contacted the kennels who denied ever having parvo in their kennels but did offer a REPLACEMENT dog. the dog had been in the kennel for 3 weeks prior to me rehoming him. obviously my family are heartbroken over losing our babies, Dogs in kennels desperatly need homes but please be aware of which kenenls you use.

HOW KIND! he had stopped eating and drinking completely by tuesday he was in the vets on a drip a full set of blood test showed nothing adnormal but he carried on getting no better he was still throwing up yellow bile and diahorria the vets did everything possible to try and save our dog Louie he unfortunatly died on the friday after being in there 4 days he threw up once more and his body could not cope and went into shock and passed away due to having CANINE DISTEMPER a highly contagious diease in dogs.... Our overall bill for this poor dog we desperately tryed to save and give a chance has cost us easily £500 in 7 days thanks to this disgusting kennels not keeping his weight on and realising just how ill he was and how much weight he had lost this place is a disgrace.

The next day at the vet we found out she had parvo. She had been in the pound for 2 months so had contracted it there. There are no preventative measures made to stop the spread of parvo through the pound. A walk in tray with parvocide will stop the spread. When I suggested this to the owners I got shouted at. Things need to change here. They are council funded and receive £80+ per dog they rehome. With this in mind I don't understand how they can be the worst place in northants. The dogs are scared and seems to be badly treated.

Luckily she is worth every penny but if I'd of known about the lack of care for the dogs I'd of thought twice about visiting the kennels in the first plac condition is perfect) 2. That he needed a Malaseb bath to fix his skin (when he needs three months of Malaseb baths, antibiotics, anti-parasite injections) 3. That he needed to be vaccinated as soon as possible (this cannot be done while his immune system is depressed with his skin condition). We are horrified that you wouldn't hand out this kind of veterinary advice without having the training to go with it - especially given that everything you told this dog's new owner was incorrect. You made it sound like his problems could be sorted with a couple of quick fixes, whereas his treatment is expensive, time-consuming, and tedious. Words almost fail me.They took my dog WITHOUT scanning her,while she was simply drying off from a swim outside her gate.When I eventually located her thru the 'Dog Warden'....the staff were rude,and threatened to put her to sleep if I did,nt pay £103,...I did,nt have the money,...luckily a friend helped me pay and drove me there to bring her home.She had been there just over 24 hours,...she came home with kennel cough,and was ,scared to go in the car anymore,which she used to love.The elderly couple who own the 'kennels' live in a huge house on site,and seem only to be interested in making money....ditto the staff.We must try and do something about this place...any dog that istaken there,..they will sell for cash if they can,...there,s no love for animals there,and the whole place is filthy.Many people have suffered the actual death of their beloved pet because of it,...I know we need kennels,but Northants council,as well as Milton Keynes,MUST take some responsibility,..inspect it regularly,without warning.....then,they,ll see what I,ve seen.
