Furthermore as lottery funding is not going on for ever, eventually the clubs will be expected to fund the organisation. Evidence of the increased costs for clubs is already with us in that with the formation of England Athletics our affiliation fees have already more than doubled and will be triple next year!

The Regional Councils of EA have no real power with most decisions taken by full time employees of UKA & EA. A large proportion of the governing bodies' income is taken up in administration costs, with only limited funds coming down to clubs - the sport's only realistic source of future talent and long-term participants.

What ever happend to the principles of the Gleneagles agreement to keep sport and politics separate. In now appears that it is the desire of a non accountablke QUANGO to involve sport in which ever political agenda is in Vogue at the time. KEEP POLITICS OUT OF SPORT FULL STOP. Give our sport back to us with a NGB which is accountable to the clubs and therefore its members after all we are supposed to be living in a democracy not a dictatorship

Athletics is a labour intensive sport to officiate morale amongst the volunteers has declined. We are not seeing new officials coming through at club level.
