It further states that I "will be notified by the states attorney's office and/or the circuit court as to thier action on the matter" This was addressed to me, NOT my husband NOR my sons biological father. Why am I the only one targeted? I have no rights, not even to counsil. They will just make a decision and let me know? My son is 16. and has a chronic digestive and pain condition. We do not even have medical ins because we are too poor (Live off SSD) to pay for obamacare but FL did not expand Medicaid so my kids go without. Because he is 16 he is only subject to truancy rules because HE CHOSE NOT 2 b homeschooled. Now to avoid "prosecution" I have to "file a formal declaration of intent to terminate school enrollment" and formally withdraw him from his public school in this county. I can then re-enroll him in another county or find alternatice education for the few remaining weeks of school. One son had been admitted to the hospital after a 3rd suicide attempt. After getting my son the treatment he desperately needed- I was hauled in front of the SARB board and compelled to sign an attendance agreement for them. The effects of chronic depression may be more manageable at times but they do not go away! Now they are classified as chronically truant and can't get drivers licenses until they are 19!
