I am retired USAF and am the hygienist and English teacher here. The mission serves the Ngobe-Bugle indigenous in the local area and the surrounding comarca (reservation). These people have nothing. The mission has been providing limited medical and dental treatment for 12 years. We collect shoes all year round but always fall short of what is needed. The foot injuries are many and very infected. We would appreciate any help. Currently we have volunteers that go back to the states periodically to collect shoes from churches, family and friends. Last year we collected approximately 700 pairs. In addition many pairs of shoes were bought locally. This barely touched the surface, of what is needed. However, 500 children who attended VBS (Vacation Bible School) in Jan did go back to the reservation wearing a pair of new/used shoes and a smile. We currently support 5 local schools with weekly trips to the clinics for medical and dental treatment. We also give a students a pair of shoes if they need them and we have them. We would appreciate any donations. The need here in Panama is great
