My wife and I were both ticketed for malicious mischief when she started a fight when she went off her phsyciatric meds. She believes the no contact order was pit in place because I was secretly wanted by the Fbi. She has since destroyed all my belongings. I only blew up as a side effect of Chantex.

Not being able to talk to my Wife and see how she is doing, not being able to see how the pets are doing, financial worries, relationship worries, all because of this law and mandatory NCO. We are adults who still makes mistakes and will still learn from them. The only thing that we are learning here is how unjust the justice system is. I agree that there are people who are abusers and need to be punished but those who aren't but under the current law are labelled as such is brutal. There does have to be something in place to be able to differentiate the two.

What about the people that have been wrongfully accused? They send you through all of this, lose your job, and spend up to years in jail, or prison. Life is ruined, and the city gets their money, or you will end up back in jail, for non-compliance. It's a one-way law.

I beleive the laws need to be changed in the cases of DV's. People who have actually comitted a crime are suffering way less.. For one small argument or disagreement you or your spouse can get a DV and it is just hell.

Im also a going through NCO and it is really putting a burden on my family because i know my wife cannot handle all the finances on her own and be able to maintain the house as she works 3rd shift. I totally agree the Domestic & the No contact order needs to be modified.And person that is considered a victim but not really being the circumestance.Should have the right to freedom of choice to be able to say no to a no contact order.Its not right and not fair for any person to have to go thru this kind of punishment for a minor argument.There is a difference between someone beating another person.but not for a $30.00 dollar window.

This can happen to you...all you want is to scare your partner straight for something unrelated to domestic violence like her threatening suicide in our case, and before you no it...theres a DV case and a 89 year no contact order a month before deploying to Iraq once again. Totally unwanted charge and unwanted no contact order...I have nor had fear for my life rather hers and didnt know this was common practice or I wouldnt have mentioned the physicality of the previous night.

The erea of False Allagations need to be addressed and Protection orders need to be done with the indivdual actually going before the judge and present evidence and not hearsay. Without actual evidence this pivits everyone at risk to equal rights under the law and civil rights being violated. The old saying goes there are two sides to every story and they both should be heard before charges are ever filed. Both people should also take clases or Relationship building classes in this event.

No contact order should be give in extreme situations. The victim should have a say in dropping the charges. Most of the time it's a one time bigger fight that is blow out of porportion. Victims should have a say and should be able to ask that he/she just leave temporarily - walk the block, whatever. No mandatory arrest unless the victim is brutely hurt.

It should also be stated that the courts should not place a mandatory no contact order between the supposed victim and perpitrator unless the victim asks to have one implemented and that is only after the victim understands the full extent of the implecations that a no contact order implies.

I agree that the laws in Washington are too severe and they appear to treat everyone arrested as if they are already guilty. I find it very disturbing that they treat those arrested with the same abuse as they are accused of. Something needs to be done and soon!
