Of all 'cult' and underground TV classics out there, this really was a groundbreaker in regards to matters concerning medicine, politics and law. It also explored many techniques that were deemed otherwise experimental back in the day that are now daily treatments in modern-day medicine; legal precedents that are now used in the courts, etc. As for the former, I'm currently taking a pill for my heart that was once experimental to start with and now helps patients with similar heart conditions such as mine. Thanks to shows like 'the Bold Ones: the New Doctors', I found shows of this type a learning and healing experience.
