Anonymous, Blanchard, Idaho, United States of America
If marijuana is illegal than alcohol should be as well. No one has ever died of marijuana overdose and unlike alcohol, marijuana has been found to have medicinal attributes that would benefit society rather than it kill it progressively. Decriminalization, legalization and taxation of marijuana would help communities financially. A mistake was made when marijuana was added to the schedule I list. Let's get it right this time.

Michael Wells, Oakland, CA, United States of America
It is LONG overdue! Marijuana is NOT a "gate way" drug. I'm 60 years old. I've been smoking pot off and on since I was 19. Enough with the BS lies from government and media. End the criminalization of recreational cannabis users once and for all. Obama, don't wait, as Bill Clinton did, until you're out of office to say that marijuana should be decriminalized. You could do it with the stroke of a pin.

Mrs. Tana Brinnand, Felton, CA, United States of America
In 2003, the US Dept. of Health and Human Services itself took out a patent (#6,630,507) on the medical uses of cannabinoids derived from cannabis for the prevention and treatment of a wide variety of diseases including stroke, trauma, auto-immune disorders, HIV dementia, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Twelve states allow cannabis to be used medically. To remain on Schedule I cannabis must have NO current medical use for treatment in the US. So, the current scheduling is wrong and must be changed.
