We were told verbally and in written form that is their policy. Marshall County came in and ground our road into a gravel one! We didn't make the agreement with Marshall County, but with the State of Indiana! What right do they have to interfere with an agreement made between the State and us? This is 2016 and there should be NO GRAVEL ROADS. Road improvements and repairs need to be made with the millions of dollars Marshall County received from INDOT. Boils down to people NOT doing their jobs and possibly misappropriating funds. They will not respond to our inquiries but I guarantee none of them live on a gravel road!

St Joesph has an engineer that keeps a history of roads and ask the board b4 removal!
The engineer also is in charge of road repairs, he seems to do a good job and use a system of hot mix patching called I believe dura mix,unlike what the county truck drivers are doing with Pug mix which I believe is not to be used as a patch but to only fill holes!
We are being set up for a near future wheel tax because of these bandaid type of repairs, the roads will continue to deteriorate due to improper maintanace, I don't blame the drivers, I blame the lack of heads not having proper training! Look at Michigan street from 4th road goin south to the expensive roundabout where our roads funding sets!
Practices need to change,lending expensive equipment out to other counties for free(or mb a personal favor?) making Pugh mix wen it can be bought cheaper! Etc et

I fear this condition will only get worse as the winter weather arrives.
I can understand that funds are short - so cut corners somewhere else. It is not fair to the taxpayers on our road to continue to receive tax increases and not have a decent road to travel to their home on. The County does not have money for road repairs - I will try that excuse next time I go to pay my taxes.
