Besides, there is no revision lecture for this unit, with no explicit direction for us to review this unit. Therefore we are petitioning the Vice Chancellor to take urgent action to rectify this embarrassing situation for the University and ensure that no other students will be subjected to the circus we have experienced this semester!

Past exams would not suggest that a single question with sub parts would be worth almost 30 points. Not having time to complete just one of these short answer question would result in a significant loss of marks.
Furthermore the content in the exam is not reflective of the content of the past years exams and I don't believe students were given an adequate opportunity to show their knowledge.
In my 4 years at Deakin, I have never walked out of an exam before feeling that I had absolutely no chance of passing. After the MAE 201 exam, I immediately burst into tears knowing for certain I had just failed my first subject. I would hope that the reaction of the students through this petition is taken seriously and 2013 exam and results be reviewed and reconsidered.

The MAE201 T2/2013 Exam have been way more difficult comparing to the previous past exam that any student can lay their hand on. the exam structure is not really make any sense. 15/100 marks for the 15MCQ while the 3 questions is worth 85/100 marks. not only that the 3 question is very time consuming and impossible to finish it in time. especially when english is not the first language.

Not only this the lecture slide is just a shit loads of hand writting which's very hard to understand. the past exam solution is not a proper solution as the person who responsible just pick the the student exam answer and use it as a solutions.

when comparing the past exam paper + all the tutorials question to the T2/2013 exam. we can all see that the question in the T2/2013 are much harder than all the previous exams.

the exam structure should be review as well as the unit-chair!

I just attended this mae201 final exam， I am so confused this exam. I did the past exam and tutorial question very well, I also review all lecture. I think the final exam is very difficult, because it has a little relation to the questions I did. I can not understand how to anwser.

Even the tut qs i did twice in my reviewing weeks. But i still have no certainty to pass this unit. The MCQs only weighted 15 out of 100. There was no chance for us to pass if we did one short answer question in wrong way. Because all first questions in every short answer question were linked to second or third sub questions. This was not fair. So i sign this petition for my final of MAE201.
