This is beautiful farm land that happens to be unfortunate enough to be serviced by the beautiful Mississippi River, Railroads and Highways. This county has NO Building/Zoning Codes that will assure that this plant will built in accordance currently recognized building and enviromental safety codes. There has not been a process by where Lee County Iowa citezens can or will be able to vote for or reject the construction of this plant. I guess that in Lee County that agricultural land can be developed as a highly hazordous manufacturing facility as long as the product developed is in support of the agricultural endeavo! If anything this land should be developed as recreational for future populations to enjoy. I can go on and on. However I retired to this home because of the pristine view that my acerage has of the Green Bay Bottoms. I believe that the supporters of this project are being hoodwinked to think that a billion dollar expenditure is worth 165 jobs at $20 an hour. If I wanted to live next door to a gas/chemical manuacturing plant I would have!
