I was a teenage parent that breastfeed my child. I was able to complete 4 years of high school into 2 plus a year of college by the time I graduated high school. I finished college, bought a house, and raised my family without public assistance nor being dependant on anyone else. My son is 25 years old, very successful, and a outstanding man. The school is able to provide children that has different needs than the general student population. I most likely wouldn't have finished school if it wasn't for Tiger Mountain. I struggled leaving my son and he was a mama's boy. It made it easier knowing I was able to go to class and see him in a short while. I breastfeed my child until he was 1 years old. He wouldn't take a bottle either. We need tmchs for future generations.

I was a 5th year senior due to problems at home and score a 6 on the ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) test. My short time at Tiger allowed me to succeed where I previously could not. I was voted Prom Princes, made the front page of the Issaquah Press and nominated a Senior Speaker. I am now a budding entrepreneur with a fantastic outlook on life and am not sure how I could have managed without the unconditional support and deeper understanding of the Tiger Mountain Staff. There is more than meets the eye when it comes to high-risk teens. Most are brilliant in mind but lack positive direction and family support. Of the 20 or so that I graduated with, many are successful, happy, well-rounded individuals and I am deeply grateful to have been in the GRADUATING class of 2000. Without Tiger, I would not have graduated. These children are comfortable and safe in their own school environment. They are thriving at school in their own pace. So why ISD would closed the school if these school served for children under privilege intellectually or for undeserved children with some challenge? I think ISD blatantly discriminating these particular minority student which for them is the only way to receive such an opportunity to education. I think it is quite heartbreaking which ironically contrary what Ron Thiel promised or said after he been assigned as Superintendent. There is plenty other way for ISD to save money if they want to reduce the school budget. Not just closing TMCHS which serving for other family from different town nearby, not just from ISD.

She has had assistance from the student focused teachers both emotionally and educationally.
Her actual GPA has gone from a 0.8 to a 3.6. Her last conference I shed tears of joy with her student advisor over her involvement and pride in school.

This was also my sons experience at Tiger. Please keep Tiger alive and well for the kids that don't fit the mainstream "mold."

The students at Tiger are there because they need the support and care that a personalized high school can provide. If Tiger is closed, those students likely will drop out of high school entirely, rather than return to schools where they faced bullying or anxiety in the past. The Issaquah School District should be moving towards MORE individualized attention, not less.

I could not go back to my high school since I would not have enough credits to graduate. Tiger mountain gave me an opportunity to do so. They even had daycare so I could being my daughter with me. If I did not have these resources I would not have got my diploma. Kids who are in my spot or not need an opportunity to get still get an education. School is not easy for everyone and it is great knowing that you still have option to graduate.

If it were not for Tiger Mountain she would have been a high school drop out at 16 with a baby and no chance of a future. Tiger Mountain not only saved her chance for opportunity it made sure that my nieces would have a better life, one with an educated mother who is employable. If Tiger Mt. were to close it will not only effect the 50 students and their American Dream but also their future families and our community.
