Jacksonville Fl customers need the fabrics area to remain in the Walmart centers. It gives the customer more choices of where we can find materials. other then Joann Fabrics. Thank you for your considerationin this matter.

My wife used to drag me through the fabric departments. When I saw what she could do with what she bought, now I'm more than happy to go and shop with her. Can't imagine the department being closed. We couldn't afford the prices in all the other fabric shops in the city. Keep it open.

I quilt all the time and have spent thousands of dollars at walmart on their reasonably priced fabrics. I shop for fabric a minimal of once a week. If Walmart removes its fabric department it will be no different than a KMart store. southern women SEW...we NEED Walmart to keep their fabric departments alive...they are certainly keeping us southern women alive!!!!!

I do not live in your State, but I can sympathize with you about this fabric closing notice, because I would have to travel a substantial miles away from my home just to get my supply of fabric, if the department wa to close at the Walmart store in our city, in order to take advantage of the large assortment of the $1.00 a yard fabric.

If all your fabric departments are closed then all the ladies that buy fabric will do their grocery shopping somewhere else since they ahve to go somewhere else to buy their fabric. If it were not for the fabric department i would never go to Walmart. IT is toooooooo far from my house.

if you are a seamstress and know your fabrics you canmake some beautiful clothing. closing the fabric department will be dreadful and I will take my shopping dollars to other merchants. Already I have transferred my pharmacy needs and make my garden purchases elsewhere as well. It's true such action will be a hardship for many. I susposed they think we will buy the ready made imports from Mexico and China.

Save the fabric department! We need fabric cut to the exact length for our projects, sometimes 1/4 yd. sometimes 10 yds. You can't replace that with prepackaged fabrics! I spend $200 a week on groceries, etc. at Wal-mart but it's the full service fabric department that keeps me coming back. Without the allure of the fabric department, I'll just get my groceries at Food Lion, they are closer (by 20 miles) anyway.

NO FABRIC THEN YOU GET NONE OF MY BUSINESS. I visit 4 local walmarts to get my fabrics, I go to walmart 1-2 x a week just for fabric and buy other items for my household while there. I can get food, tolietries, cleaning supplies and medicine at my local grocery store, i would therefore have no reason to go to your store. I spend and estimated 50-200 on fabric there a month. I can see that your company is not putting the customer first and therefore my business will go elsewhere.

As an educator for a sewing machine company, I travel across tthe US teaching sewing classes. In every city, I visit the local WalMart. I find that the vast majority of my students also depend on Wal Mart to have fabric at a reasonable price. It is vital to the community to have the availability of sewing supplies locally so we can continue a hobby as rewarding as sewing.

I always preferred KMart for regular shopping, but changed my buying habits since I was already at WalMart to look for fabric. The $2.00 fabrics are worth checking out once or twice a week. I usually buy $40 - $50 worth of other merchandise while there for fabric. K Mart will end up getting more of my shopping dollars again.

Why close fabrics when sewing is gaining popularity daily? The kids and new seamstresses are acutely interested now that there are fabric and design oriented programs on cable, disc and public broadcast stations. The local campuses are adding sewing classes. Meanwhile the fabric selection choices will dwindle. Wal-Mart will be following the trends not leading any.

There are many times that I go to Palmyra's Walmart to check fabric, then because I'm there, I purchase other things. If the fabric department is gone, I can do errands at the other locations nearer to my destination. Please reconsider closing this department.

I could think of many ways to make our local Walmart Supercenter more cost effective. However, getting rid of a department that is surely a money-maker for Walmart would not be one of them. I am frequently in our local store and NEVER leave the store without visiting the fabric/craft department to check for economical, high-quality fabric to use for my home decorating or clothing projects. Same for Wal Marts in and around Houston, Texas. The stores in Deer Park, Pasadena, Kemah and two stores along I-45 have confirmed they will be closing soon. This leaves us with only Hancock and JoAnns. Please do not close these departments. I, too, am on a fixed income and can really use the good Wal Mart pricing.

Right now, I can get most of my needs at one place. This makes life MUCH easier. If you take out the fabric department, I'll have to drive across town for it, and I might as well do my shopping while I'm there.
I don't think you realize the impact this will have on your stores nationwide.

It is so convient for me to drive about 8 minutes to our new WalMart on Dallas Highway in Georgia to get fabric. The ladies that work in the department are always so nice and helpful. They will talk to you and help you any way they can. Paulette in particular is the most wonderful person I have ever run in to working at a WalMart. She is very knowledgeable and can talk you through anything you may not understand with sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc... Please don't close out the fabric dept.
