I think it is a shame that the ambiance of the country road feel has to change due to the level of dust that we have to deal with and the damage that is inflicted on our cars due to the ruts in the road. Not to mention the fact that when your driving a 4wd and another comes down the road one is forced to almost run off the road.

As a mum, I would like to see Menzies Road sealed at no cost to the residents. When we first moved to Menzies Creek (13 years ago) the road was apparently meant to be sealed......at no cost to the residents (as not a private road) yet we have been waiting and can see the the cost to "us"..... the water tanks, graters, the man power to maintain the road - it is just silly ....... just seal IT! To seal the road is in, the end a benefit and cost effective to the council. Stop stuffing around!

I travel this road to visit my son and family and find it very dangerous driving especially in the winter when is it slippy and full of pot holes.
It is disgusting to learn that the Shire of Yarra Ranges have not kept there promise they made to residents 28 years ago.
It is now not later that action needs to be taken to complete this task before anyone is killed on this road.

The road as it is & failure to maintain it to a safe standard is a dangerous disgrace. I've lived in Menzies Rd for 18 years it's always been the same. Step up SYR please.

We are smothered by dust every spring and summer. Our plants change colour from green to grey. The dust supression program is welcome but is only a temporary re[rieve. During the Dec/Jan 2011 summer it did not receive the dust supression measure at all. The potholes need avoidance at all times.

We moved out to a bush area so our children would have a safer environment to grow up in. Now we find ourselves living on a dangerous road where drivers speed like crazy and near accidents happen regularly. The road is too narrow for two cars. Tourists race from crossing to station to wave at puffing Billy. Locals race down our road to get their kids to school on time. We need speed humps or chicanes to reduce the speed and the only way this can be achieved is by sealing the road.

Please seal.When graded the difference
between driveway & road surface becomes greater into a "V"Today its being graded & the road level will change again. Last time it was by 20mm. Dust in summer has made us think of moving. Cost stopped us. Our cars are washed every few days just to see through w/screen & when left for a few days its hard to tell what colour thy are & their in the carport! Heavy rain flows down the road leaving ruts etc & almost impossible to drive on.Costly upkeep of road.

Living on Menzies Road is a health hazard during dry periods. The dust and filth that enters our property makes it impossible to stay outside. Constantly cleaning. An extremely dangerous road with cars speeding over the limit all hours of the day. It is not safe to walk up the road, especially for children and people in the community with disabilities.
