As well, people are misinformed about tree heath and don't understand that trees need their limbs for photosynthesis. A good covering of trees protects those remaining from wind storms coming from the southwest (leave stands and not just individual trees). Trees cut down on solar heating of roofs and help with microclimates on a property. Lastly, developers are not intent on preserving the community, wanting to maximize their building potential so they build edge-to-edge on lots and remove existing trees. Our neighborhood is called Sherwood FOREST for the express purpose of maintaining a forest. I would like to see the city support our desire to maintain our community the way it was intended.

We bought the property and joined Sherwood Forest believing that trees were protected and cutting them required special permissions. Those regulations were disregarded or not followed. I want the remaining trees preserved to keep the nature of Sherwood Forest, its clean air and wildlife and count on the City Council to update regulations for Sherwood Forest at least as strong as they are for the Bridle Trail neighborhood.
